Half-Blood.
Name: Kyna Rochelle Madley
Age/Birthday: Fifteen. April 21st.
Gender: Female.
God Parent: Athena.
Claimed: Yes.
Mortal Family: Russell Madley: Father.
Years in Camp: Three.

Brief History:
Kyna Rochelle appeared on her father’s doorstep many years ago, with a note from the goddess Athena. Unlike other people, her father was overjoyed. He had always wanted a little girl, but being a naturalist and travelling the world for his research, he’s never been able to settle down and find a girl. The closest friends he had were his textbooks. Even his coworkers were distant. His longest relationship with a woman was with Athena, because something about her intrigued him. Now, he’s got a child, from the goddess herself. He couldn’t have been happier.

Kyna’s father raised her to be his perfect little angel. He taught her about the things she needed to know, like science, math, reading as well as Greek Mythology. He was bit disappointed when she turned out to be dyslexic, but he loved her all the same. He spoiled her and took her with him everywhere he went. Kyna ended up loving nature as much as he did, and he was proud of her for that.

When she was about ten, her father convinced her to dye her hair dark brown like his. Reluctantly, she did. Her father was overprotective, and he was paranoid that some monsters would recognize her. He couldn’t take the chance. He wanted his baby to have the perfect life.

He bragged about her to his friends, telling them that there wasn’t another girl out there who smarter. They believed him, because the blessing of Athena appeared in her at an early age. She was happy, and her life was, to her, perfect.

This didn’t last long, though. At the age of twelve, the monsters came. This particular one, which was a Harpy, was determined to kill this demigoddess. She was extremely scared, because she didn’t know what was happening. The monster killed the woman who was there at the time, who was one of the people her father worked with in that particular area. When her father arrived, he pulled out a celestial bronze dagger and killed the beast. He kept this because he wanted to be careful. He apologized to his little girl, because that experience scarred her for life.

After that little fiasco, her father realized that he didn’t have a choice. He had to send her baby girl to Camp Half-Blood. He dreaded the day that would happen, and it took him about a week to convince his daughter to go. She threw a lot of tantrums that week, saying that she didn’t want to leave him.

And then finally, against her will, Kyna was shipped off the camp. She packed with her a chess board, a telescope, a lot of sugar free candy, and several of her other prized possession which she has collected from travelling with her father. A tearful goodbye followed a long and silent car ride. Kyna watched her father leave her. That was a day she’d never forget.

Kyna’s been in camp for three years, three very long years. She’s only seen her father a few times during that span of time. Her father may have loved her more than life itself, but he couldn’t take the chance. She needed to be safe. Kyna didn’t understand this. She wanted to be home with him, but he forced her to stay. She’s tried to sneak out of camp several times, but she’s never succeeded. Now she lives her lonely life miserably in camp, waiting for her father to take her back.

Physical Appearance:
Kyna has dark brown hair which she keeps down in the cold months, and in a low, loose ponytail in the warm months. It falls down to the middle of her back and it straight ended. Her skin is a bit pale, due to vast periods of time she spends inside. It used to have a healthy tan glow, but when she was admitted into Camp, she spent a lot of her free time indoors and alone. Still, because of the activities on Camp, her skin stays tan enough for people to not mistake her for a zombie. Her eyes are almond shaped and gray, just like her mother. These are topped off with thin and dark eyebrows. Because of exercise she had gotten while working with her father, as well as the Camp's activities, her body is lean and thin. Every few months, she redyes her hair and her eyebrows brown, in honor of her father.

Personality:
Being a daughter of Athena, it was expected to be smart. Yes, she was. She understood the Pythagorean Theorem and the basic concepts of physics, even with her dyslexia. From the moment she was born, her father understood what she was, who she was, and what she would become, so he kept her to himself, homeschooling her himself. This meant she didn’t know how to interact with people. That seemed to be where her intelligence reached its limit. Never in her life would she admit that, though. Being called intelligent by her father and her father’s friends, her pride swelled quite a bit over the years, though, her father doesn’t know this.

Because of her father, who is a naturalist, she has been around nature since birth, and her love for it is just as strong as any satyr’s. Her kindness only appears when she is around plants, or her father. It’s not that she’s shy. It’s just that she doesn’t like people. She doesn’t like being with them. She thinks they are too complicated. She doesn’t like being a demigod. She wishes she was back home, with her father, living her happy life, but she isn’t, so she’s bitter. She pushes away everyone who tries to come close to her, and she has yet to find a real friend.

To her, people are just tools. They are just the things she is forced to be with all her life. Her fascination for life is only directed to the plants, and to the stars. She is very optimistic about life, and she hopes that the monsters will just go away and she’ll go back to live with her dad. The present doesn’t intrigue her. She prefers the past. History fascinates her, much more than the present.

When someone talks to her, she snaps at them. Her talking voice is similar to of a droll or an annoyed squeak, depending on her mood. Her kindness doesn’t extend to people. She’d rather be alone, reading a book, playing a chess, looking at the stars or with plants. She’s even vowed never to eat meat, because she thinks that animals are just as good as plants, and shouldn’t be killed. She wouldn’t eat plants if she could, but she needed to.

The bottom line is, she’s is a lone person, an island. Her wisdom is minimal because of her closed shell. Her life is hollow because she doesn’t have anyone. She only has her father, and her immature mind thinks that he’s all that matters. She has yet to see what’s truly important in life, but for now, she’s her little naïve self.

Fatal Flaw: Doesn't trust anyone she meets.
Pets: None.
Talents: She’s got a good head on her shoulders and she’s clever and wise, which helps her strategize well in combat. She's also thin and lean, which makes her a fast runner. Besides that, she has a thing for charcoal drawing, because unlike words, pictures don't swirl around in her head.
Weapons: Her chosen weapon is a simple Celestial Bronze sword.
Year-Round or Summer: Year round.

Hi there, welcome to Camp Half Blood. You have a really nice character, but the one thing that bugs me is her play-by. I have Selena Gomez for my play-by on Faye, my Athena character. It would drive my crazy having two people with the same play-bys in the same cabin.

Half-Blood.
Name: Elliot Beckett
Age/Birthday: Eighteen. July 15th.
Gender: Male.
God Parent: Apollo.
Claimed: Yes.
Mortal Family: Janette O'Brien-Beckett: Mother. Trevor Beckett: Step father.
Years in Camp: Five.

Brief History:
Elliot was conceived in New York. On clear starry night, Janette O'Brien was eighteen, drunk, and in a small bar somewhere in the sleezy downtown of New York City. It was a fling. A one night stand. Nothing special. Nothing more than a misplaced memory in the morning. When she woke up with the worst hangover of the century, the last thing she expected was to have a Demigod stir inside of her. She didn't realize this until months later, when the puking started. Her parents, in rage that their daughter disgraced herself so, sent her to live in Ireland with her grandparents.

Ireland wasn't as bad as she thought. Sure, she had to brush up on her Irish, but living in the country was, after living in NYC for years, literally a breath of fresh air. Her baby boy was born on July 15th. He had her beautiful hazel eyes, and the beginnings of a curly tuft of black hair on her head. She named him Elliot. At the time, there wasn't a single sign that said he was anyone's but hers.

A few months after his birth, a stressed Janette met a man named Trevor Beckett. He sang with his guitar in the park across her home. She would go there during Elliot's nap time. With his guitar case open in front of him, she'd give him a few coins whenever he was there. Their eyes would meet and he'd thank her as he sang. Not long after the day their eyes first met, they started talking. And talking developed into a beautiful friendship.

Right after Elliot turned one year old, they were married. Elliot adored his new father, who could play such beautiful music on his guitar. On his piano. On his harmonica. On the violin. In his little mind, Elliot thought his daddy could play it all. The moment he could talk, he was singing. And the moment he had the dexterity to handle an instrument, his father was teaching him.

His love for it only grew when they moved to New York when he was five. His mother's parents adored him, and helped fund his love for music by buying him CDs, taking him to see Musicals on Broadway and getting him the best intsruments out there. By the time he was ten, he could play the piano, guitar and violin. With maybe a little bit of harmonica if you dared him to. Not perfectly, though. He could never be as perfect as his father.

Elliot loved music more than anyone else, and his father saw that. His parents supported him in everything he did. He did well in school, too. He worked hard to everything he had and all the talent he was given, he tried to enhance. When asked why he loved music, he answered, "When I saw my dad play, it made me happy. I wanna make other people happy too."

With his parents' help and connections, at eleven, Elliot started performing in little venues such as parks and restaurants. His mother's brother own a small little Italian bistro near where he lived, and every Tuesday became his regular gig. He truly loved performing and seeing his parents' smiles as he did was all he needed.

The day he turned twelve, the monsters started coming. He isn't entirely sure when they first started, really. A shadow passing outside his classroom's window. A bitten out amplifier. Maybe even the tiny hole in his shoe that he found after a trip to the playground with his friends. To him, everything happened quickly and it was his father who saved him. With the help of a friendly neighborhood Satyr.

A harpy came zooming through the trees in his backyard one afternoon when he was thirteen, and Elliot screamed and ran for the house. His father came out to see what the commotion was about, and was greeted by the horrible sight. He fought it own with a lawn chair until a Satyr, who happened to be nearby. He had sensed a Demigod in the neighborhood and hung around there, and then he saw Elliot. The Satyr, with a little help from Elliot's dad, managed the kill the harpy and comfort Elliot. His father was shocked and skeptical of what the Satyr suggested. His son! A Demigod! Outrageous. But then he looks at the boy, in all his wonder, and goes to find Elliot's mother.

After much hesitation, Elliot was sent to Camp Half Blood. Of course he was saddened. He loved his parents. He loved his grandparents. He loved his family. But like they said, his safety came first. And they let him take his musical instruments with him! One thing he didn't like though was that he wouldn't be able to perform outside of the Camp, but his father promised him gigs whenever he came home for the Holidays.

Physical Appearance:
Elliot looks like a very male version of his mother. His eyes are a bright hazel color, with long eyelashes. His eyebrows are thick and triangular, and he's able to control them well. The top of his head is covered with a thick tuft of curly black hair, which grows fairly quickly. And cutting it is such a hassle to his mother that she lets him grow it out sometimes. With his strong angular jaw and white teeth, his mother and several of his friends in NY call him quite attractive.

He has great control of his emotions, and this lets him have a wide variety of different facial expressions. On more than one occassion, he's been called rather expressive by his family and peers. Whenever he's expressing pure joy, mostly when he's performing, he has on this smile that makes the rest of the room brighten up as well. He's said to have a lot of charisma.

Since all his life, he's focused on his music, he hasn't had much time to work out as a child. When he arrived at Camp Half Blood, he was just an average kid with skinny arms and a bit of belly. After rigorous training, his muscles have grown quite a bit, but the belly's never really left him. Now, he's got strength and agility and can handle a sword pretty well. But his true talent is archery. Because of his love and mastery of the bow, his arms are more muscular than his legs.

Personality:

passionate: He gives his all in everything he does, whether it be his archery training, or his music. It's a firm belief of his that if you want to get anywhere in life, you have to give 150% percent of yourself, and your dedication. His parents taught him that nothing will fall into his lap, and to get something he wants, he has to earn it.
charming: After a lot of performing, it's only natural that Elliot developed quite a bit of charisma as a child. He knows how to charm people and has developed a talent for getting people to like him. And on many ocassions, this has helped the demigod get what he wants. If someone tells him no, well, a bit of charm is all it takes to get them to change their mind. Apollo's genes have definitely played their part in helping Elliot become such a charmer.
fearless: He knows what he's capable of, sure, but he's not afraid to try new things. In fact, sometimes he goes out of his way just to do something completely outrageous, like wear a pair of pink jeans or dress up as a monkey on a dare. Another word could be "shameless". He is not afraid or embarassed to do anything at all. (Unless, of course, it breaks his moral code, like raping someone or stealing.)
ambitious: He strives to be everything he can be, and he's not afraid to work a little hard or maybe even a lot hard to get acheive something he wants. Though, because of his desire to be good in everything he does, he gets anxious at times. (Mostly before performing.) This ends up with hims sweating a lot during performances and during battle.
careless: This trait has led to a lot of wounds on the battlefeild, so he's thankful he hasn't been seriously injured. Yet. Often times he'll accidentally leave a part of his body open for attack, or he won't notice an opening in his oponent quickly enough, resulting in his missing his chance by a handful of seconds. He's been trying to fix his lack of attentiveness for a long time, but somehow, even with all his effort, it's difficult to change.
carefree: Despite all his aspirations and dreams, the most he really wants to be is happy. Isn't that why he pursued music in the first place? It made him happy, and he wants to make other people happy. He's never lost sight of that. Everything he does, he does it because it will make somebody happy. Or safe. Usually both.
forgetful: If it wasn't for his nasty habit of writing personal reminders on his hands, he'd forget a lot of things, such as appointment, lyrics and other things. For some reason, he never forget chords, or how to play songs on the different instruments he can play. It's like riding a bike; impossible to forget. But if it could be forgotten, Elliot probably would. That's why it takes a lot of effort for him to be able to score well in written exams.
over-emotional: If something bad happens, Elliot will probably cry about it. He's been called cry baby a lot, but that doesn't bother him all that much. (One thing he really isn't over emotional about is people teasing him, though it does get to him when he's feeling particularly crappy that day.) A lot of times, you'll find him crying after a successful performance or while people are appaulding him. Or when he wins a battle he had a hard time in, he'll cry a couple tears of joy. Also when having a hard time in battle, he might cry a few tears too. Besides his easily provoked tear glands, he also overreacts to a lot of things and blows things way out of proportion a lot.
hopeless romantic: Being a hopeless romantic does not make him a flirt, but he can often be percieved as one. When a little lady catches his fancy, he finds himself almost smitted immediately. He'll do every single sweet thing imaginable. She'll find flowers in her desk drawer. He'd serenade her in the middle of a conversation, sometimes not even singing an actual song; just adding a tune to the words he's saying. He'd be the kind of guy to grab her hand while walking and twirl her around the pathway in a spontaneous kind of dance. And he'd do anything for her. And he's had his heart broken on more than one occasion. Now, despite the scars, he still hopes his true love's out there.

Fatal Flaw: Trusts too much and too easily. Won't realize someone or something is out to get him until something bad actually happens.
Pets: Back home, he had a dog named Joey. It's in the care of his parents now.
Talents: He's skilled in guitar, piano and violin. He knows the basics for playing the drums and the harmonica, but has difficulty with both. He's a skilled archer, and prefers to shoot his opponents in the head. It's become an instinct to him. He also has basic knowledge of first aid, but it's not much. Besides archery, he can handle a sword but he's careless in hand to hand, or rather, melee weapon combat.
Weapons: Can he use his guitar as a weapon? No? His chosen weapon is a yew bow with Celestial Bronze tipped arrows.
Year-Round or Summer: Year round, but he goes home during various holidays.
