_______________

_______________

Character You're Applying For:
Perseus "Percy" Jackson

Brief Description of the Character You Are Applying For:
Percy has round, almond shaped, piercing sea green eyes, which are framed by dark eyelashes. His hair is slightly lengthy, but refuses to cooperate with Percy, and often winds up looking slightly disheveled. His pitch black hair falls just past his ears and narrowly avoids sneaking its way into his eyes. Percy is a lengthy height of 5’10”, not exactly appearing intimidating, but not at all weak or timid. He has a rather clear and somewhat pale-golden complexion, and a slightly athletic build from training often. Percy tends to wear anything that he can easily move in, along with his Camp Half-Blood shirt. A natural leader, although he refrains from admitting it, Percy can lead anyone to victory. He is courageous and extremely loyal to his friends, that being his fatal flaw. Percy doesn’t back down from a challenge, and can often be stubborn, especially when someone, mortal or immortal, does something that he does not agree with, such as messing with his friends and family. This is seen most strongly in Percy’s hatred for Ares. Percy is rather modest, and doesn’t enjoy having the spotlight on him.

Sample Roleplay:
The old wooden steps creaked as Percy gingerly walked up towards the attic in the Big House. He had been there multiple times within the past two weeks, hoping to be given information on when Kronos' army would attack once more, so he could warn the others and help them. However, whenever Percy had tried to obtain information from the Oracle, nothing had happened. He hoped in vain that the dusty old mummy could give him some information this time. Percy reached the end of the staircase, and stepped onto the landing. The door that lay ahead intimidated him, challenging him to come in and make a fool of himself, talking to a decaying corpse. He pushed the thought out of his mind and stepped into the musty old room.

A path had been carved in the fine layer of dust leading to the Oracle from Percy's previous visits, but even so, this place caught dust quicker than a hydra's head could grow back, which is to say, extremely quickly. Percy made a mental note to tell Chiron to get a mini-vacuum and clean out this place every few weeks. He stared at the decaying mummy that was the Oracle. He strained his eyes and ears to hear something, anything, coming from the motionless corpse, but of course, all of that was in vain. He knew in the back of his mind that the Oracle wouldn't tell him anything.

Percy sighed, and walked downstairs and out into the open again. It was astounding how amazing fresh air felt after he had been in that dusty old attic. He decided to go spend some time at the Lake. After all, Percy often thought more clearly when he was near water, and it calmed him down as well. Percy felt he needed that after the couple weeks spent failing at trying to get information out of the Oracle.

Why do you deserve/want to roleplay this character?
I find Percy to be a very well rounded character and is always chock full of surprises. I can easily relate to Percy and enjoy seeing things through his point of view. I admire that Percy does not say no to a challenge, but rather steps up to the plate, ready for anything. I interpret Percy as an intellectual individual, and admire his loyalty to his friends; which is always a great trait to have, even though it is his fatal flaw in Percy's case. I find that I similarly have that issue, one of the reasons why I like Percy's character so much. Even in that sample RP, it's really fun to RP as him, once you get the right inspiration and muse.

First Name: Wyatt
_Middle Name: Louie
Last Name: Daniels
Age/Birthday:16 | April 12th, 1995
Gender: Male
Mortal Family:
_Father: Henry Daniels | 46
Henry is a great father to Wyatt, and a well to do professor at Harvard. He often conveyed his intelligence in a fun manner, which his son as well as his students enjoyed greatly. Henry always read his son part of a novel each night, and taught him how to read and write at an early age. He raised Wyatt not only to be a great student, but a fun one as well. Wyatt loves his father just as much as his father loves him.

Claiming: Wyatt was claimed on the evening of the start his 2nd week at camp.
God Parent: Athena | Goddess of Wisdom and Battle Strategy
Wyatt isn’t very close with his mom, but his relationship with Athena is more neutral than anything else. He not exactly happy that she didn’t come down and say hello to him every once in a while, but he understands that she can’t. Wyatt and Athena rarely come in contact with each other, and when they do, both Wyatt and his mom just say a curt “hello” to each other. There may be some love in each other their hello’s, but there isn’t much.
Years At Camp: Wyatt has been at camp for just shy of 4 years, arriving when he was 12.
Year-Round or Summer: Wyatt stays year-round, but sometimes visits his father on the holidays.

Eyes: Wyatt has large, almond shaped, clear pale blue eyes in close similarity to forget me nots. In bright light, Wyatt’s irises appear to be a stormy grey color.
Hair: Wyatt has dusty dark blonde hair that is often short cropped.
Height: 5’10”
General Appearance:
Wyatt inherited his good looks from his father. His dusty dark blonde hair falls short of his ears, which are averagely sized. His eyes, which are framed by thin, light eyelashes, are vibrant pale blue, similar to the color of forget me nots. In bright light, his eyes appear to be stormy grey rather than blue. Wyatt has a thin but sturdy nose, plotted above his equally thin lips. He often has a playful grin on his face, rather than a stern one, which he rarely has unless a situation is extremely grim. Wyatt has a slightly athletic build from training all the time, but is by no means a muscleman. Wyatt stands tall and holds his head high, walking with a smidge of self-pride.
Dressing Style:
Wyatt tends not to care much for style at all, and often throws on whatever’s at hand. Usually, if he isn’t training, it’s some old tattered blue jeans with a belt and a plain white T-shirt. If he is training, Wyatt tends to be more careful about what he puts on, and picks out clothing he can easily train in, such as lightweight shorts or sweats and a T-shirt or hoodie. For dances, Wyatt snatches a collared shirt and black dress pants, but that’s it.

General Character Traits:
Wyatt is a rather ambitious young man, and strives to achieve goals that he is working towards, taking risky leaps to accomplish goals he sets for himself. Wyatt is very motivated and driven to achieve his goals, hoping to be known for his accomplishments. He is also extremely competitive against other campers and does not back down from a challenge. Wyatt has very witty and clever responses to almost everything, and has a very dry yet fun sense of humor. Wyatt can be rather sarcastic, but would never make remarks against another camper. Additionally, Wyatt has a very friendly and warm demeanor, and enjoys being in the company of his friends. He can be particularly stubborn and does not budge if he believes he is right, which often is the case. Wyatt takes pride in being intelligent and perceptive, but loves to have fun as well. He is most certainly not all books and no play. Wyatt is not a very shy person, and in fact is very talkative and outgoing. He loves making jokes and conversing with others. Wyatt often ignores authoritative figures and is constantly rebellious, thus getting him into trouble. Despite this, Wyatt is very loyal to his friends and would do anything to protect them.

Likes:
Books: Being a child of Athena, Wyatt has always loved books, particularly ones about Greek mythology and battle, but doesn’t refuse another fantasy or science fiction every now and again. Wyatt can often be seen with a book in his hand.
”What? Oh yeah, books are amazing. They’re like, my peanut butter to my jelly you know what I mean? I suppose I can thank both my parents for that. Hey, mom! If you can hear me, thanks for the book smarts!”
Rebellion: Wyatt often doesn’t play by the rules, and enjoys messing with authority. He likes the look on the face of whoever’s in charge when they see him rebelling against them.
”I guess you could say it’s kind of empowering, rebelling. Anyway, any people in charge don’t know what the hell they’re doing in most cases… I usually figure they need some action in their boring lives. Wouldn’t you agree?”
Adventures: Wyatt has always loved adventures, even when he was much younger. His love for adventure and excitement began when his father to read him Greek mythology books.
”Adventures have always been a thing for me. I remember hearing my dad reading the Greek mythology stories and thinking, ‘Hey, that sounds pretty cool. I’d like to try that someday!’ I started walking out into the forests that were in our backyard. Who cares if there were monsters? I was ready for them. At least… I thought I was. But that’s a different story. Maybe go look at the personal history section down there and see what came of those adventures."
Ice Cream: Ice cream is possibly Wyatt’s favorite food ever. Any flavor is fine with him.
”Ice cream is just about my life in the food department. It’s just so good!"
Art: Wyatt got into art at an early age, and began to dabble more into it as he grew. It’s not like he would make a living out of it, but it intrigued him nonetheless. Wyatt sometimes paints the scenery around him on a canvas and gives them to his father when he can.
”I don’t think art is something I would make a living out of when I grow up, but at the moment, I think I’m content at painting some things and sending ‘em to my dad. It’s a great past time, besides reading books and rebelling, of course."

Dislikes:
Stupidity: Wyatt despises stupidity and tries to avoid any of it. In his mind, stupidity can lead to the downfall of anyone, and hates it with such vile that Wyatt’s surprised any stupid person doesn’t crumble to the ground.
”Ugh, don’t even get me started on stupidity… I mean, if you want to be a good person, could you at least have the brains to do it? Geez, it’s just so annoying. I can’t even begin to tell you…”
Incompetent People in Charge: Wyatt doesn’t think all authority is bad, but the reason he thinks it just isn’t worth his time of day is that he’s met a lot of incompetent people in charge.
”It’s always the same old thing. The person in charge ‘knows what they’re doing’ and is ‘perfect for the job,’ and then winds up blowing up a school or something. I’m not exaggerating. It’s ridiculous.
Authority: Wyatt really never liked authority since he was in pre-school. He constantly got into trouble with incompetent and stupid teachers (two of the very things he despises) and came to the conclusion that it wasn’t worth all this trouble for.
”I just had enough of it. I didn’t do anything wrong, so why were they blaming me? I decided at an early age to quit trying to be a good boy in school. It’s not like I did anything stupid, like drink or anything, I just didn’t listen to my teachers.”
Hypocrites: Wyatt just simply hates those who say not to do something, and then go ahead and do it themselves. To him it makes no sense and just proves that the ones who do that are stupid.
”Hypocrites just piss me off. If you say not to do something, and then do it yourself, what the hell is wrong with you?”

Habits/Mannerisms:
Wyatt has a habit of biting his nails whenever he is nervous, and also tends to sneeze whenever something catches him off guard.

Strengths:
Wyatt has a very friendly demeanor, and likes meeting new people. He is extremely loyal to his friends, and would risk anything to save them. Wyatt is very intelligent and perceptive, often looking past extraneous details to figure something out. He is very outgoing, and loves to impress others.

Weaknesses:
Wyatt tends to hold grudges for a prolonged period of time, and is as stubborn as a mule sometimes. Additionally, he is very competitive and ambitious: nothing gets in his way of victory. Wyatt is also fairly rebellious and ignores authority.

parent’s history:
Henry had a free period while teaching at Harvard, and noticed a young woman with stormy grey eyes walk through the door to the teacher’s lounge. He immediately stood up. This woman looked familiar to him, although he didn’t know why or how. Athena greeted him and asked Henry if he knew who she was. Henry surprised himself by nodding. Athena smiled at him and came a little closer. All of the sudden a white wisp of smoke came tumbling out of Athena’s temple and landed in Henry’s arms. Athena told him to take good care of him, and suddenly vanished, as if she turned into smoke as well. The white smoke that was in Henry’s arms took shape into a baby boy. Henry was stunned, but knew what had happened. He then began to raise his son, named Wyatt (Henry named him himself).

wyatt’s history:
Wyatt was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts at Harvard University. As a child, Wyatt was very curious, and often managed to escape his crib and wander aimlessly around the house, discovering new and interesting things along the way. He soon discovered at pre-school that some teachers were very stupid, even at a young age. They often blamed Wyatt for things that he never did because he seemed to be remarkably smart, even with his ADHD and dyslexia (which were both more minor cases than most demigods.) Wyatt soon began acting up and getting into even more trouble, thinking that incompetent teachers were not worth his time. Henry understood his son and both father and son often laughed at the idiotic teachers when Wyatt told his father about his days at school. Around the age of 5, Wyatt’s dad began reading him books about Greek mythology. Soon, however, Wyatt began reading them to his father. Wyatt was intrigued by all the adventures that were in the books, and soon set out to have some of his own adventures. Wyatt trekked out in the backyard and soon went into the woods. Wyatt was unusually unafraid of the woods, despite what he had heard about monsters. You could say that he was overconfident – his fatal flaw. Regardless, soon after Wyatt went into the dark forest in his backyard, he got lost. Panicked, Wyatt started calling for his father. When it was near dark, he sat down on a log and thought through what to do. However, before he could start to think, he heard the voice of his father calling. Happy and relieved, Wyatt ran towards the voice… towards his first monster.

For it was not his father calling to him, but rather a Cyclops. In his haste to find his home, Wyatt had stumbled into its lair. Wyatt finally came to the source of his father’s voice, but found nothing. All of the sudden a huge looming figure came out of the shadows of the trees. The huge figure of the Cyclops looked down at Wyatt and grinned wickedly. Wyatt yelled in terror, looked at the Cyclops wide-eyed. He looked around and noticed a sword on the ground, probably from another victim of the Cyclops. Wyatt stumbled towards it, only to be knocked into a tree by the large hand of the Cyclops before he could reach the sword. Exasperated (and not to mention fairly light-headed,) Wyatt got up. He raced towards the sheath and narrowly avoided getting smashed into another tree. He picked it up in his wobbly nearly 6-year-old hands. The Cyclops laughed a haunting and menacing laugh. Anger seeped through little Wyatt. ”You’re a mean old Cyclops, and I think I’m going to kill you!” Shouted Wyatt defiantly. The Cyclops stood still, confused. He hadn’t expected his meal to come with a side of defiance and rage. In its confusion, Wyatt had enough time to race over to the Cyclops’ foot and stab it with the sword. The Cyclops screamed in pain and fell over, defeated for the moment. Wyatt ran away, and somehow managed to find his house. Wyatt’s father was very anxious, but nonetheless Wyatt told his story. This made Henry even more anxious, but he knew that Wyatt could handle himself. Besides, he doubted that he had to send his son to Camp Half-Blood yet.

Meanwhile, in school, Wyatt encountered more monsters, but now kept the sword he had found hidden with him at all times. When Wyatt was in 5th grade, his idiotic science teacher was doing an experiment. Unfortunately, she added a little too much of an ingredient, and then there was a huge boom. Wyatt woke up on the side of the street with a massive headache. His school was in flames. His stupid, incompetent teacher had blown up his school. ”Great…,” Wyatt thought. ”Just great….”

Henry knew that the time was getting close that his son had to go to camp. Meanwhile, he met his son’s guardian, a stout satyr named Chris, who was disguised as Wyatt’s good friend. Chris told him that at the next monster attack, they would have to take him to CHB. Reluctantly, Henry agreed, even though he had no control over it. Sure enough, when Wyatt turned 12, an empousa showed up in the backyard one day, while Wyatt was practicing with his sword, whom he named Wit. The empousa sprang out from behind a tree, catching Wyatt off guard. He sneezed, but managed to swing his sword around and got a satisfying thump as his sword caught its target. The empousa screamed in agony. Suddenly Chris and Henry came rushing out of the house. Wyatt wondered why Chris was here, but there was no time to explain. The empousa was dead, but already more eyes were peering out of the foliage in the forest. Chris said they had to get Wyatt to Camp Half-Blood immediately. And so they drove Wyatt to Long Island, explaining everything along the way.

Wyatt was claimed on the evening of the start of his second week at camp, and moved quickly from the Hermes cabin, relieved. He had hoped that he was a son of Athena, since he hadn’t come into any powers, but no one had told him who his god parent was. Over the next few years, Wyatt made many friends as well as many enemies, and continued to practice with his sword he found in the Cyclops’ lair all those years ago.

Fatal Flaw:
Wyatt’s fatal flaw is his extreme loyalty to his friends.

Pets:
While Wyatt does like animals, he never found time to get a pet, even though he may get one in the future.

Talents:
Wyatt is extremely intelligent and very perceptive. He is a naturally good battle strategist, and has a knack for science, history, math, literature, and everything else academic. Wyatt is also very skilled with his swordsmanship, as he trained himself even before coming to Camp Half-Blood.

Weapons:
Wyatt mainly uses his trusted celestial bronze sword, Wit. It is about 2 feet in length, and is miraculously weighted perfectly in Wyatt’s hand.
