| I waited at the top of the hill, beside Thalia's pine tree. What was taking her so long? I wondered aimlessly, sitting down beside the sleeping dragon and scratching its scaly neck absentmindedly. Above me, the golden fleece glittered like a lake at noon. My lighter was stowed in the pocket of my jeans, and I kept my dagger in my jacket. Pity I couldn't take my bow, I thought, mortals wouldn't notice it anyway.

| Kat walked slowly up to Thalia's pine a slight smirk on her face. Crap, she was late. It was the best she could do. Kat was famous for beif late. She saw her friend already up there rubbing Peleous's neck. "Heyy!" Kat called with a smile. "I'm late, I know. Sorry." she smiled lightly. | |

| Kat smiled. "Let's drive to the city," she said happily. Seth hid his car in the bushes down the hill some way. Seth never minded if she took his car, he cared when she wrecked the car, which she has yet to do. "My friends got a car over here. C'mon." she took Amber's wrist and led the way to the truck. | |

| I leapt in opposite her, not bothering to buckle up. Seatbelts were useless and got in the way, who invented these things anyway? You'd probably be stuck in there trying to escape. Then a thought occurred to me. " Um... How long have you been driving?" I tried it once, fun, but I nearly knocked into a dog in my fathers Volkswagen on the main road, although I was WAY underage. But then again, rules don't matter for a demigod like me. | |

We didn't get very far away until the cops caught us and Chiron took away our desert for a week. It wasn't pretty in the end, but I think that that hellhound had it coming."
