| This is straightforward. I know we should have the right to express our opinion, but the reputation thing just kinda shows how good a person is. If we want to show our opinion, we should show it through comments. Nuff said.
If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.

| Well, I actually like the reputation system (as you see, I vote a lot on that stuff xD). It is like a a way for people to know when stuff isn't supposed to be said, or how they feel on the opinion. In a way, it can be a vote, too. I mean - not everyone is perfect. IMO, I feel like rep. isn't a big deal, actually xD | |

| I have a feeling it's not you who's voting down my reputation... *sigh* | |

| I mean, nobody voted down your posts here, so it's not one of those things where people vote down all of you posts :p I think someone just disagreed with the way you acted or how you put things, that's all. | |

| Honestly, I don't really care about the rep system. So I'm completely indifferent on this matter. I can see where Kendall is coming from because sometimes it does seem like people only vote things down because they don't like you or something, but I also can see where Moo is coming from in that it's a good way for members to tell others what should and should not be said. But the only way for the rep system to actually function the way it should, the way Moo is talking about, is for it to handled in a mature way. No voting posts down for no reason or cause you don't like that person, no voting points up to try and flaunt your high reputation. Whether or not we have that maturity level to handle the reputation system as such, I'm unsure. So basically, I'm indifferent on the entire subject. | |

| Sorry Kendall, even though you said to say something positive(maybe backing this out was a better term. ( :] )), I'm still going to make a point. Reps, are there for a reason. When you make a mistake, offend someone else, they could post up a comment. But, it would be easier to rise their voices up from giving you a negative rep (or was it the other way around? My mind is jumbled right now. >.<). In other sense, it would make it more of a confidence builder, or a rule supporter if you give a positive vote, to what is truly right. (*facepalm* I don't express well.)
Example:
User A is in a fight with someone else. Thinking you side with A and yet doesn't want to be involved too deeply in the fight, you just give him/her a positive vote to somehow say that he/she(it?) is right. You gave off confidence and judgement without an effort really. And, for a positive vote, a person would probably think that since someone voted it up, he/she will do more of it.
Like this real life instance. A kid of three threw a trantrum. The mom, being short tempered, left her out at night, after telling her off with soothing words. the kid, now left alone in the dark, would know that what she did wasn't right, and would repent. The next time she tries to throw a trantrum, she would think of the alternative and wouldn't do it.
Get my point? | |

| What? No. She was just giving an example xD
Here's a different one:
I was too lazy and didn't want to post again, so I just bumped up Death's post.

| I don't think that's what Death was saying at all, Kendall. I think she was just trying to give an example of something that a parent might do to show their child in the least rude way that doing/saying the thing that they did was wrong. I don't think she meant it in a malicious way at all. :3 | |

| Nope. I didn't. :3 I was explaining, how posts could be ignored, but reps are just heard louder. | |

| I have no problem with the rep system, mostly because it's a confidence booster. It shows what people are highly respected around the community, what people are major rule breakers, and who might occasionally have a nice thought. It helps the new members compare members, and it's almost like a special little treat when you see your post voted it. If you see it voted down, well, I've had thousands of posts voted down. I know it doesn't feel good, but honestly, if you read over your post, you almost always agree.
I don't have the final say, I suppose, but I would be sad to see my old friend, the rep system, go. I used to try and post nice things to get rep. It encourages good behavior, and can hurt people into not posting bad things, just like te olden days, when teachers hit their kids gently with a ruler. The rep system Is almost needed, in my personal opinion.

| I somewhat have a problem with it because I have a low rep, and people seem to like to vote down my posts. It makes me feel stupid. But I still like it. | |
