Lily's Return [ Totally Open ]

Subject: Lily's Return [ Totally Open ] Wed May 04, 2011 1:31 am

Sighing Lily walked up to the beach and hugged her arms. Her bikini top wasn't helping much on the surprisingly chilly night. Yanking her hoodie out of her backpack she zipped it up and sat on the sand. Lily was thinking back to when she had first met her ex-boyfriend, Adam Dunlap. Well, she didn't know if that was completely true. Maybe he loved her enough to wait? Lily shaked her head, it's been like, a year. He wouldn't wait that long for her to come back. Lily was so caught up in her thoughts she didn't notice she had started crying until the tear landed on her palm, quickly wiping the tears away she stood up. Not sure where to go. Not sure what to do. This sucks, big time. I finally come back from a trip that could've killed me and then my boyfriend - what ever he is - may not even want to date me. Before she could stop herself Lily screamed, the echo living on long after she had stopped. "Ohmigod," Lily gasped, putting her hand over her mouth. "I can't believe I just did that!" Lily ducked her head in embarrassment, thankful she came back when nobody was around.

Ari was walking around Camp during the chilly night. For a daughter of Apollo, she enjoyed moonlight, but she still enjoyed the day better. Ari was just about to head to the archery range, when suddenly, she heard a loud, echoing scream. Her head snapped to the direction of the beach, the place where the scream came from. Sprinting to the beach, she hoped it wasn't a Camper being attacked. When she reached the beach, she was surprised when she saw one of the Aphrodite campers, Lily, sitting in the sand. "Lily?" she asked walking forward. "Are you okay? I heard a scream."

Lily shaked her head, her eyes closed and silent tears running down her face. "I don't know what to do." Lily said, wiping her eyes with her sleeve. Her whole body was shuddering with tears. "I don't know what to do," She muttered again, before collapsing in sobs. Lily had never broken down like this before, most of the time she was an easy-going, bubbly, energetic person who never really cried. And right now, standing in the beach, she realized, that she was slowly losing her sanity, one memory at a time.

Ari sighed and sat down next to the older girl. She's never seen Lily like this before. Sitting on the ground, she gave her a hug. "It'll be okay, Lily," Ari whispered as Lily continued to cry. "Want to talk about it?"

Lily looked at Ariadne, starting to calm down. "This is just so hard." She says, her mind racing just as fast as her heart. "I don't know if everyone's okay, I don't even know if half of them remember me." Lily siged, and tucked her hair behind her ear. "I just don't want to end up alone." Moments of silence followed that last sentence, Lily looked around. Even though the beach looked the same, it was somehow different. It didn't so much look different, as it felt different. I might as well write, 'I do whatever the voices in my head tell me to do' on my forehead. Lily thought, This is pathetic. "I'm sorry for breaking down it's just - " Lily searched for the right words to say but she just couldn't seem to find them.

Ari smiled sympathetically as she watched Lily look around the beach. "Hard?" Ari offered. "I know, Lily," she said quietly, staring out into the horizon. "But, just remember, you'll never be alone. You have us. We are, in fact, half-extended family." Ari chuckled quietly. "And I'm pretty sure your half-siblings will love to help you out. I will too." Ari gave a sideways glance at the Daughter of Aphrodite, and sighed.

Lily smiled, "Yeah, I guess you're right." But something was still bothering her. "Ari?" Lily asked, before her brain could stop her nerves, "Does Adam have a girlfriend?" As soon as she said it she wish she hadn't. It wasn't her buisness anymore. Stupid, stupid, stupid! She kept saying over and over again in her mind. "Forget I said that," Lily said, her face turning red, embarassment bubbling inside her. Hugging the hoodie tighter she laughed, "I forgot how beautiful this place was, how at peace it made you feel. Like you're safe." To Lily safe is a relative term and she usually uses it with a hard edge to her voice, because no one is ever completely safe.

Ari stared at Lily for a little while with an eyebrow raised. Lily tried to change the subject by talking about the beach's beauty, but Ari wouldn't let it go so easily. "As in Adam Dunlap?" she asked. "If it is him, I don't think so."

Lily tried, without success, to hide the relief on her face. "Oh," She managed to squeak out. She was stiffling a smile, and it wasn't working out so well. "Thanks for telling me." Lily said, triyng her best to make it sound like she didn't really care.

Ari rolled her eyes. "You can't hide it from me, Lily," she smirked. "I know your relieved. It's written all over your face." Ari sighed as she looked up at the sky. "Listen, Lily, I'm sorry, but I've got to go. My half-siblings might wake up and find me missing." Giving Lily a small pat on the back and smiling slightly, Ari got up, got the sand off of her shorts and jogged away. "Bye, Lily!"
