Smelting Metal Empty

I walk into the Armory with the pile of metal from under my bed. I go over to the back and put the metal on a table and think. What should I make. Should I make an emergency dagger or sword. I would have a lot of metal left over. This visit was to smelt. Not make a puny weapon and leave, no. I think some more.
