Emily enjoyed drawing. It was one of her favorite activities along with a few other things. However, she started disliking it because of her previous experiences when she tried to draw. Whenever she attempted to draw, something bad always happened. She didn't know what else bad could happen so she thought she might as well give it another shot.

Emily packed a bag full of drawing things like water color paint, colored pencils, charcoal, etc. Then she was set off for an adventure by herself. She didn't have that many friends, which she was partly grateful because they probably would've betrayed her for what had happened a few months ago. She had gotten a bit careless, she thought you could say. People made faces at her, talked about her, pointed at her. But she couldn't care less. She let it wash over her which for some reason pushed her harder. She trained and boxed harder. She mostly practiced by herself but she might occasionally train with one of the Ares kids. A few of them didn't care who she was, they wanted to beat her.

Emily wanted to do something calming though. A few days she had been exploring (again by herself) and found the perfect place to draw near Zephyros Creek. No one came there and there was a specific spot where you can just hear the water rushing over the rocks. It was the perfect spot. No one could judge. No one could bother her. No one could break her heart. Or so she thought. She eventually arrived at her spot and no one was there. Just as she planned.

Emily began drawing everything that could come to mind. She started with small things first incase she got interrupted again and she wouldn't have to come back again to finish a drawing. She hoped nothing happened because then she would have to this place to her list of 'places to never come back to again because I either humiliated myself, had my heart shattered, or just hate.' She sighed. After a while, nothing seemed to happen. That's when she began to draw the creek. It was something she had never draw before and bit harder than the lake because the sun light just made the creek shimmer. She didn't know how to draw it. She just wanted to stay there at that moment forever. It was the perfect moment of where she was at absolute calmness and yet emptiness. She didn't feel any sadness, but at the same time she didn't feel any happiness. It made her glad. She felt bad though that she couldn't share this moment with someone else.

Tobias Kelly
Tobias didn't like winter. The temperatures dropped, the wind blew harder, and everything seemed hostile. Personally, the demigod didn't like hostile environments, and avoided them at all costs. Not that he couldn't take the heat of an argument, he just chose to avoid them out of fear of being discovered. See, if you take the perfectly confident son of Hermes and started to peel back the sarcasm, the hair gel, and the charm you'll find a terrified little boy cowering in a corner. He is afraid of so many things, from rejection to commitment. But, no one needed to know that but him.

One of his buddies, Keaton Lange, had dared him to go monster hunting with his other group of friends, and the demigod had agreed. Now, looking in the creepy woods for deadly creatures wasn't his exact idea of fun, but he couldn't afford to look weak. They had decided to split up to cover more ground, all of them equipped with long range walkie talkies in case of emergency. Apparently one of them, Markus maybe, was a son of Hecate, which implied that he would get the gang back together if needed. Either way, he wasn't looking forward to the long hours they'd be spending in the cold air.

His mess of blonde hair stood out among the pale white of winter's breath, the occasional sunlight reflecting off of his knife. A sound shocked him out of the silence, static registering on the talkie. "What was that?" he asked back. "Guys?" A muffled response came back on the talkie, too disoriented to be understood. Scowling, he followed along his way, searching for Zephyros Creek. Upon finding it, he traced the rocks with his feet, walking in no particular direction. He continued on for another few minutes until he noticed a figure about twenty yards off.

Tobias would've turned around, but the way that the blonde hair fell over the girl's face and the way her feet her angled told him one thing: he should've turned around. But he didn't. "Emily?" he breathed, chewing on the inside of his cheek. The teenager surged forward, nearly slipping on a wet stone before he reached the girl. Casually taking a seat next to her, he pulled on a cocky grin. "Hey Steel, what's shaking?"

The cold was starting to get to Emily. Her cheeks and nose were turning to a red color. It didn't help either that she had a light coat on. She hadn't expected it to be that cold, and it's always colder near the water. She was about to finish the last part of her drawing when she felt someone sit next to her.

Emily looked over to see who the person was. And of course it had to be Tobias. It turns out she was wrong. People did come here. Looks like she would have to add here to her list. Emily gave him a smile. "Oh I'm just um drawing. Not that good though." She said with a small shrug. She showed him the drawing. It was okay so far. She couldn't finish now, it was starting to get too cold. "What are you doing out here?" She asked him curiously, raising both of her eyebrows.

Emily hadn't seen Tobias in a while. The last time she had seen him was when they had guard duty together. That had been a few weeks ago. She didn't bother visiting him or anything. She wasn't sure what they were exactly. Friends? Enemies? Frenemies? She wasn't even sure what she felt towards him. She had been trying to avoid him while she figured that out. Looks like that didn't end up well.

New Year's was coming up and boy was she excited. She knew what she was going to do this year though. She had everything planned out. She was going to stay in her cabin and have the doors all locked up and boarded. Just for extra measure. That was the last time she was going to a party in camp. She didn't want the same thing happening again. Otherwise she would end up falling in love with another person and have her heart broken yet again. She definitely wasn't going through that again. "So are you doing anything for Christmas or New Year's?" She asked with a smile.

Tobias Kelly
Tobias was taken back by her smile. A smile? After all of their fights, kisses, more fights, and all they had gone through, she was smiling? Part of him didn't realize that maybe she had moved on from their arguments and was living happily. Part of him wished he had. Despite all of the dates he had gone on since they had broken up, he hadn't ever moved on. Even when he had kissed the other girls, they were always Emily. He didn't even remember half their names. There had to have been at least ten of them. Jade, Brooklyn... Mya, maybe? The faces of the girls had blurred together, but in the end they always seemed to have blonde hair and blue eyes. But not the right blonde hair and blue eyes. There was only one girl that was truly perfect in his eyes, and she was sitting beside him.

His eyes shifted to the drawing, admiring the curves of her strokes and the shading. It was pretty impressive, and far better than Tobias could've ever done. "Not to shabby," he commented indifferently. As she asked his question, his hand shifted towards the walkie talkie in his pocket. "Oh, uh - I'm hunting monsters, obviously," the teenager replied with a shrug, grinning all the while. So maybe splitting up hadn't been such a bad idea after all - he'd have to thank Keaton later.

He kept his hands to himself, folded over his chest as he tried to find a comfortable position on the large rock that he had made his seat. Tobias didn't like feeling so ridgid and unnatural; it bothered him. How could one person have such an effect on him? It wasn't fair. Her question also made his skin crawl. "I might go to Australia with my family for the break," the demigod responded. Had it really been almost a year since they had first met? It felt a lot longer.

It had almost been a year they knew each other. The memory was still clear in her mind. She wasn't sure if she would have gone to the party down at the beach even if she knew what would've happened. What if she had protected herself? What if she had friends there with her? Would she have met Tobias? A lot of questions seemed to bounce around her head. She tried to push them aside and focus on what was happening right now. Emily gave him another smile to reassure him everything was all right, even though it wasn't.

Emily nodded at his compliment. There were a few things she could change about the drawing, but overall she was pretty proud of it. She gave him a quick smile before returning to her notepad. She started changing a few things about it. "Monster hunting?" She laughed. She couldn't remember the last time she had went monster hunting. She had probably been around ten years old. She didn't do that anymore considering she matured a bit more as she got older. She still remembered when she did pranks on the Aphrodite kids. She didn't do that anymore, but every once in a while she would just to have a few exciting memories. "Are you alone?" She asked a bit curiously as she erased something. "Have you found anything yet?"

Emily heard him shifting his position. "What's the matter? Got ants in your pants?" She said facing him with yet another smile. She returned back to her drawing while listening intently. "Oh that's cool." She said nodding her head a bit. I'll just be here by myself for the holidays, She thought a bit sadly. She wished she could visit her family in England, but she certainly didn't have the money and she would only hurt them even more with her being a daughter of Zeus. She sighed as a tear slipped down her cheek and dripped onto her newly finished drawing.
