Oz was cautious when he walked along the rocks that lined the beach. I listened carefully, hearing the tide hit the rocks. I took one step after another. He bet that most people take sight for granted. Walking along a beach was much harder without it.
He turned his head, listening to the playful voices of the other campers around him. He felt around with his foot, and sat down on a rock. He listened to the waves hit the rocks.
He was dressed in a short sleeve button up shirt, and grey skinny jeans. He was wearing combat boots.
He heard footsteps behind him. He turned around, hoping the person would talk so he could identify them. When they didn't, he started the conversation. "Nice weather, isn't it?"

"Depends on what you're used to really." I reply when I hear a voice call out, my coat flapping in the breeze. "So, Who are you?" I ask, roughly due to my unfamiliarity about talking to people. I usually just listen to them, after all I find comfort in darkness.

Oz leaned back, tilting his head backwards. If the person didn't know that he was blind, it would be almost impossible to tell that he was. He lifted his legs off the edge of the rock, and spun around, sitting cross-legged now.

Oz could decipher that the person he was speaking with was a male, presumably in his late teens. He could hear a coat flapping in the wind. Oz grinned, now learning that the boy had jacket.

"I'm Oz Rolland, son of Khione," he said, tilting his head playfully. "You're rather blunt, aren't you? I bet I can guess your parent," he said, going through the list of gods that were straight to the point and bitter.

"Alexander Braxion, Son of Ares, 4^th Generation Leagacy of Erebus. Call me X though." I reply taking my swords off of my back, placing them on the ground and then dropping heavily down. "Now then, lemme ask ya something, are you blind?" I ask trying not to be rude. "If you are, I ain't going to give a damn, cause I hate the light, I prefer the darkness."

Oz pursed his lips as the boy explained himself. He winced as the swords clanged against the rocks. He rocked back and forth for a moment, listening for more sounds.

"Now then, lemme ask ya something, are you blind?" the boy asked. Oz widened his eyes at the question. He knew that if the looked for it, they would see that he was blind, but not by just talking with him.

Oz sighed and rest his hands behind him, and put his weight into his arms. "Well, what a way to take the fun out of everything," he said. "Yes, I'm blind. Now, I have a question for you: how did you figure that out?"

"I looked. that's all there really is to my trick." I reply casually. "I look, I focus, pay attention, that sorta stuff." I picked up my blades before wrapping the bandages around the blade. "My mentor Raphael, he's the one who taught me to fight by the way, is now blind, I found out last Christmas when I snuck out to visit him." I say laying my blades against the rock.

Oz listened intently as X spoke. It wasn't every day you find someone who just watches like that involuntarily. Maybe he should keeps his... ears on the lookout for this guy.

"Oh. I'm sorry to hear that. It can be a shitty life," Oz said, remembering his past. He looked at the the ground, and felt it with his hands. He listened as X set his swords down on the ground. The sound pierced his ears. He winced once again. He looked in the direction of X and put his hands in his lap. "Is it possible for you to be a bit more careful with those swords? The ears are kind of sensitive, y'know?" he asked trying to be as polite as possible.

"Sorry, just never taken them off before... well actually that's not true. I only take them off if I'm sparring with someone, plus these things are heavy, not a lot of people can lift them." I reply watching Oz carefully. "Have you ever been in a 6+ on one fight?" I ask looking for his response.

"That's... a long time carrying swords like those. I can tell by the sound that they're heavy as hell," Oz said, extending his legs. He started to relax for a moment, but was taken aback by the question.

Oz waved his hands in defense. "Oh, most definitely not. I try not to get caught up into fights. To risky for a guy like me," he said. "Plus, I don't really have a weapon. I have emergency knives, but that's about it," Oz said, feeling his pockets for any weapons, although he knew that there were none. He held up his hands and waved them, showing that he had no weapons.

"I see then. Well let me tell, from personal experience, that they are a royal pain, especially when you only have you're fists to fight with while they have rocks, bottles and stuff like that." I reply. "My swords are about my weight." I sigh in joy as a cool sea breeze blows past ruffling my silver hair.

"Oh, that sounds terrible," Oz said, trying to imagine the situation. It was rather difficult, since he never seen anything in his life. He shook his head, and lifted it towards X. "I try to stay near water if I'm going to get into a situation like that," he said.

He was listening carefully, hoping to hear someone splashing in the water. When he did, he grinned, and held his hands in front of him. He felt a freezing cold linger in his hands. He breathed, and let the cold freeze the water. He could hear the person freaking out, asking for someone to help. They cursed loudly, and shouted "DAMN YOU KHIONE KIDS!" Oz snickered.

"I can freeze water. I can also manipulate it when it's frozen. I'm actually working on freezing it while its in the air," he said, trying his best to freeze the air around him, but it didn't work very well. He looked in the direction of X and shrugged.

"I fight best at night or in dark areas. I'm at my strongest from 11 o'clock PM to 1 o'clock AM." I say tugging my hair out of it's pony tail and letting it fully loose. "I've always been a loner, never really had many friends, or none at all, it's a rather shitty life." I say, placing my hairband in my bottom left most pocket, before ziping it shut.

Oz never liked the dark, although he was cursed to be stuck with it for eternity. He figured that was one of the reasons why he didn't like the dark: he was always seeing it. He wanted to see something new.

"...I want to make friends. But I'm afraid that I'll mess up, and they end up getting killed. Or what happened with my brother. He abandoned me here. Pushed me out of the car and left me to die," he said, ice forming around him. "I'm a loser. I can't fight unless it really comes down to it, and all I am to my brother is trash that needs to be thrown out," he said, slamming the rock underneath him. The ice around him shattered. Ice crystals started to form in the air, and floated around Oz. He had no idea that this was happening, though. He gritted his teeth, and tried to forget the memories.

"Um... Oz, You're freezing the mouisture in the air. I'll be your friend. and just because you're blind, doesn't mean you're trash... in fact it makes your other four senses sharper than normal. I, quite honestly, would do anything to have heigthened senses" I replied suddenly feeling sorry for what happened to him. "You're brother's a jerk who wouldn't recognize talent if it showed up right in front of his face." I say, shocking myself.

Oz lifted his head and stared blankly in front of him. He was freezing the moisture in the air? He released his balled up hands, and listened. Small ice formations shattered against the rock below.

Oz listened to X's comforting words. He could never talk with anyone without scaring them away. But X, the boy he knew little about, was willing to stay and listen. Oz fell on his back and stared at the sky.

"I don't even know why my brother did it. He just... left me here. When we were kids, it was him that helped me get around. It was him that helped me to walk and move around on my own," he said. His eyes began to water. "He brought me here after my stepmother died. And you know how she died? A monster. And I could see that monster, clear as day. That is the only thing I have seen other than darkness," he explained, his voice now wavering. He wiped his eyes, and sat up abruptly, looking at X

"Come with me out of this camp. I need to see my brother and father again," he said, his voice as stern as ever. "If you really are my friend, do this for me.

I smilied warmly. "Friend's help each other, no matter what. My oath to you is friendship. I'll give a warning though, if I get extremely angry, run, run far and run fast." I say seriousness creeping into my voice. My cobalt eyes looked to the ground and my hair covered my expression. 'I never want to lose someone again, first My mom, then My friends. Who's next? My allies, my mentor tell me Dad, who do I lose next?' I thought tears falling freely from my eyes. 'I thought I'd never cry like I did when Joan told me my mom had died.' my tears dripped to the rock i was sitting on.

Oz listened as the strong warrior began to cry. He held out his hand to help, but realized it wouldn't do much. "X..." he began, trying to think of something to say."X, I'll be there. I may be blind, but I'm good with feelings. Trust me, I've dealt with them my whole life. All kinds of them, too. Anger, pain, sadness, grief, all of it," he said. Oz wished so badly to be able to see. He wanted to be able to help his friend up. But he couldn't. He cursed under his breath. Mom, why did you curse me with this? I need to help him! Oz thought to himself. He shook his head, and stood up. "Stop crying, X. Get up. Walk. I've told myself these things, and gods, have they helped me," he said, holding out his hand.

"Sorry. Bad past." I replied Taking his hand and pulling myself up. i bent down and grabbed my swords before putting them on my back. 'I feel safer now that my blades are on my back.' i thought running my hands through my hair. 'Damn, I'll need a hair cut soon.' "So, where excatly are we going?" I asked.

Oz smelled the air. It was cold and brisk. He looked northwards, and grinned. "We're going to Canada," he said. "Toronto, more specifically." Oz took a few steps forward, and noticed that his right foot did not land. He slipped in between two rocks. He winced in pain, and looked at X. "Could I get a bit of help please?"

"Canada? Interesting. Yeah I'll help." I replied grabbing one of my swords. I slammed it into the rock and turned it, shattering the rock. "Be more careful next time." 'And thus the grand adventure begins. Excellent!' I thought I reached into my coat and pulled my wallet out. "I got enough for us to get a flight there, but if we want to get back, I'll need more. Probably need to pull 10,000 dollars out of my bank acount." I told Oz after checking my wallet. I also need a blade if I'm not going to take mine. 'The armoury!' I thought. "I need to stop at the armoury for another sword. I know a kid there who should've finished it anyway." I said, after realizing that the airport had metal decectors.

Oz shook his leg as he was released from the rocks. He brushed off his clothes, and looked in the direction of X. He listened as X explained what he was going to do.

"You really don't need a sword, y'know... I mean, all we're doing is finding my brother and father," he said, thinking about sitting next to him on a plane. It would not be comfortable. "I mean, I got my ice powers if we're in a pinch. I mean, now I freeze the moisture in the air," he said, remembering what had happened earlier.

He thought for a moment. After thinking, he realized that the airplane, would in fact, not be on the ground. He couldn't use vibrations to help him move around. He seemed terrified at the fact. "And if we're taking a plane, I will probably be clinging on you the entire time."

I laughed at what he said. "Fine, Bus then. But I'm taking my swords anyways, I need to be able to defend myself and I don't want to buy spiked gloves." I replied placing my sowrd on my back again. "I ain't walking all the way to Toronto, I can hot wire a car if absolutely nessacary. Though i ain't proud of that." I say, a little sheepishly.

Oz gave a half-grin, and shrugged. Neither a car nor bus seemed to fit his tastes, as even then he wouldn't be able to feel the ground, but it was better then being thousands of feet in the air. "Bus is fine," he agreed.

He didn't want X to bring swords. He wasn't much of a fighter and didn't want to see weapons. IT reminded him of too many bad things. Although, he wanted X to feel somewhat safe, so he figured it would be fine if he took them with them on the "trip. "Do the swords collapse or something? I don't think bringing swords onto a bus is very... subtle," he said.

Oz suddenly remembered his guitar, Alyss. He couldn't leave it behind. With the Hermes misfits living here, anything could happen to her. "I'm bringing my guitar. No way I'm leaving her behind. And besides, it might help with some funds, if necessary."

"Non-magical... though, the kid at the armoury should've made a sword with a collapseable blade." I reply. "I can cover all funds but bring your guitar. I do have a bag for the swords to go in for traveling." I say after realizing that Raphael gave me a track bag. "Raph gave me bag for them 2 Christmas' ago. Said if I ever went traveling outa state I should use it, then people won't be wondering why does that kid have two giant as hell swords strapped to his back?"

Oz grinned, and started to walk along the path that led back to the cabins, he turned around towards X. "Yeah, the bag will be helpful," he said, listening carefully.

"I guess we should get packed up and head out soon. I'm gonna head back to the Khione cabin and get my stuff. Meet back here at.. hmm... 10 o'clock?"
