Sebastian

Fey had been leaving camp a lot lately. Maybe that was because deep down he really despised camp, with it’s loud atmosphere and it’s hardworking campers. Sebastian never had much time for people who worked all day and didn’t hang out with him. As it was, Fey hardly did anything himself to help out around the camp. For instance, last week he had been assigned to work the camp store, but the demigod had found an episode of walking dead that he wanted to watch and did that instead. In the end he’d been chewed out by Mr. D and had to do even more work, but it all worth it to Sebastian. After all, all work and no play makes Jack a very dull boy, and Fey would be damned if he became dull, alive but dead like a zombie. Or maybe the reason for always leaving camp was because of adventure. Even as a child Sebastian liked to roam carelessly around wherever he was, and it often landed him into trouble. It seemed that trouble, no matter how hard he was trying to avoid it, always followed him without fail like a lost puppy. It wasn’t anything ever bad, of course, as he’d never been arrested in his life. Sure, there was a slap on the wrist, a suspension from school, and a less than perfect permanent record, but Fey could live with that. After all, as a demigod he’d learnt not to expect to live past twenty-five, so there really was no future to look foreword to.

Today Fey was going into the city with his friend, Tobias. Sebastian had been the one to propose this idea of escaping the training lessons and games of capture the flag and instead suggested going somewhere else. He didn’t know where they would end up or what shenanigans would ensure, but he had promised Tobias that the adventure would be fun. Currently they were inside of a car the Fey had ‘borrowed’. It was shitty, to say the least, not at all like the sports car that Fey’s so-not-boyfriend drove, but at least it got them where they needed to go. As the trees thinned out and they got out of the forest and further away from camp, he turned the radio on. It was pretty silent in the car, and that was weird because usually he or Tobias would strike up a conversation full of sarcastic remarks and burns. But maybe the both of them were deep in thought. Fey smirked at that, because the last thing he did was actually think about his actions before doing them. He was a rash and reckless boy, filled to the brim with dangerous ideas and a spirit to do them.

The songs on the radio were vaguely punk-rockish, and although he listened to that genre a lot, Sebastian didn’t know the song, but he guessed the band was Fall Out Boy. Time slipped away from in you camp, and sometimes he couldn’t even remember what month it was because he was so wrapped up in doing things that were so stupidly boring. He didn’t even know what songs were in the top 40 anymore, which was saying something. At any rate, he’d gain his knowledge of pop culture back when they went into the city; it didn’t take long for Fey to regain his senses of local gossip. He turned to Tobias, finally bored of choking silence. “Do you have anything in mind, or are you going to sit there like a mute dolphin?"

Tobias Kelly
When everything around camp was even and smooth, Tobias got bored. He couldn't help it, the idea of sitting around and following orders from sweaty teenagers just didn't appeal to him. Plus, the idea of getting sweaty himself was increasingly unappealing. It wasn't that the demigod didn't enjoy work, he did, sometimes, when the end product was worth it. But training for three hours everyday to fight fairy tales wasn't worth it, not to him. This was one of the many reasons he was overjoyed upon meeting Fey. He felt a mutual understanding between the two of them that confirmed their lack of concern towards most everything. So, needlessly to say, when his new found friend asked him to venture out to do something stupid, he agreed.

Of course it wasn't just that Fey had asked, he had been itching to go out for days, and his offer had been too good to refuse. Tobias felt that his duty towards Camp Half Blood was forced, and therefore felt no obligation to attend the daily rigorous training sessions. With his morals bent, he headed out to the parking lot. The lot held quite the array of vehicles, with everything from a sparkling Prius to a rusted out pickup, and nearly everything in between. Somewhere in the blur of colors and models was his own Toyota Corolla, currently out of order from his recent collision with a white tailed deer. Needless to say, that night his nature loving date Jade wasn't impressed.

Fey's car wasn't impressive, but neither was the teenager's mess, so he didn't comment on it. There was also the fact that he now owed the demigod something; it wasn't everyday he got someone to take him out of camp's borders. The drive was steadily silent, and for once, Tobias didn't protest. He took a moment to enjoy the quiet, allowing his few thoughts to settle on the horizon and the blue of the sky. The color brought a memory into his mind that he couldn't suppress, the thought of Emily. Her laugh, smile, even the scent of alcohol on her breath was all too vivid. He would've been lost to the thought of her if his friend hadn't spoken up. "A mute dolphin?" he repeated, arching an eyebrow. His brown eyes skimmed the dashboard of the vehicle, finding nothing of interest to make fun of. "I'm not sure if I should be offended or flattered," Tobias replied casually, his lips forming a cocky smile. "We should order pizza sometime, I'm starving. Oh - and we should do something stupid." His smile never faltered as he spoke.

Sebastian Williams
As he drove down the road, Fey got the sense of freedom, like the chains of oppression were being broken and torn from his skin. It was something that he wanted to have happen. Sebastian Williams was like a bird, born to be free and love the sky, soaring higher than any other being on earth. Cage the bird, and he was unhappy, stubborn, and unpleasant. So it was important to pick the right friend to take on this quest for something amazing. Cale wouldn’t work, because he was boring and Fey was awkward around him. Emma was too uptight and probably would have restrained him, so the only logical answer here was Tobias. Carefree and just as snarky and sarcastic as himself, Tobias was quickly becoming Sebastian’s favorite friend out of the large circle he had. “Oh, flattered, certainly. It’s not everyday you get compared to an animal with a bigger brain than yours.” Sebastian said, smirking, but not looking at Tobias.

The car rumbled under his feet, threatening to fall apart at the next mile. Sebastian could have afforded a better car, what with all the wealth he had, but he was under eighteen and so the bank had taken all his money until that time. Besides, even if he did have the money in his possession, Fey was taught by his mother to be frugal, and buying a very nice convertible would have been utterly pointless. So he didn’t mind his crappy car, which exhumed dust when you turned on the AC. Luckily though, it was quite cold out for November, and so they had the heat on, which worked well enough and kept the boys from freezing. “Mm, pizza.” Just thinking about food made Sebastian hungry. “I like the the way you think.”

Sebastian laughed. He laughed a lot these days, because if he forgot about his mother, everything was almost alright in the world. Sure, there was the odd letdown here or there, but his life was relatively happy and carefree, so why shouldn’t he laugh? “Well duh we’re gonna do something stupid, that’s why I brought you."

Tobias Kelly
With the fading treeline came the sense of freedom, and it filled his veins with an icy adrenaline, keeping his gaze bright. His feet tapped along to the bass of the music, kicking up dust from the flooring of the car. The dry smell of dust didn't stop him from moving, though. ADHD was a constant struggle. Tobias could've ventured out with anyone, but he was glad that it was Fey who asked. His other friends were either dense jocks or preppy rich kids, who couldn't take a joke. The teenager preferred someone with a similar mindset that orbited around sarcasm and recklessness.

Mocking offense at his friend's remark, he replied, "How will my ego ever heal?" He chuckled, smiling out at the landscape. A smirk was undoubtedly on Fey's lips, Tobias could hear it in his voice. The unhealthy groan of the engine made the teenager uneasy, not because of the possibility that they could crash, but the idea of not getting to a random destination. He wanted to do something; anything was better than lounging around camp. He craved excitement. Exhaling, his breath temporarily fogged up the window, so of course he had to draw something. On the subject of food, he traced a slice of pizza with pepperoni. "I would hope so; anyone who doesn't like pizza isn't human," Tobias exclaimed, smirking confidently.

Laughing along with Fey, he glanced out the main window, seeing vehicles passing by. "Aw, you make me blush," Tobias said, his voice oozing with fake affection. His grin ever present, he reclined the passenger seat, making an awful squeak. "Gods, Fey, this thing sounds worse than my ex girlfriends."

Sebastian Williams
After what seemed like forever, they finally reached the outskirts of the city, and Sebastian knew this was where he belonged. Even if the air was a little more polluted and the stars were non-existent, it was still home to the demigod. The way the sun bounced off the glass of various buildings made him feel so happy, because you hardly ever saw modern buildings in camp. Camp was just boring, made out of wood and stone, not at all contemporary or handsome to look at, like himself. There was just something about the city that made Sebastian come back to life. However, where they were headed was not towards the fancy hotels or restaurants. No, Fey felt like being a regular teenager, who was all about stuffing his face full of greasy pepperoni pizza and gulping down a soda, and he was like 90% sure Tobias wanted to do that too. So he stopped in front of a well known pizza joint and got out of the car, slamming the door. With this car, if you didn’t slam the door, it wouldn’t close, and if you slammed it too hard, the thing would fall off, so it was kind of a hit and miss. “Well, your ex-girlfriends sound positively delightful then.” Fey remarked with a sigh as he threw his keys up in the air, caught them, and stowed them in the pocket of his jeans.

When they walked in, Sebastian ordered a large pepperoni pizza for them both to share, and they sat down at a table. “By the way, your ego will never heal. Have fun going through life with a bruised self-image, my friend.” For a while neither of them said nothing, as there was nothing to be said. The diner was almost completely empty, and even though Fey would have preferred it that way, today that wasn’t the case. Today Sebastian wanted an overcrowded space of people, a place where you had to scream just for the person 6 inches away from you to hear you.

They finally got their pizza, and Sebastian easily inhaled a slice, not bothering to even chew and savour the flavour. When he had started on his second piece, he finally slowed down enough to actually get coherent sentences out. “So what exactly do you wanna do? ‘Cause I’ve been thinking about robbing a candy store or something. You up for it?” Another reason why Tobias was his partner in crime was because Fey could count on him not to chicken out at the most crucial points in their plan. For instance, if they needed to lie, Tobias wouldn’t rat Fey out (hopefully) and get off scotch free. “Dude… Twenty pound gummy bears. We need to steal twenty pound gummy bears." Sebastians blue eyes glittered with mischief and excitement, waiting to leave and do something stupid and reckless.

Tobias Kelly
The next few minutes were filled with sarcasm and wit galore; the smirk on Tobias' face never dulled. His brown orbs fixated themselves on the distant skyscrapers as soon as they came into view, the windows winking at him through the limited sunlight. The glass and windows reminded him of home, and he could've confused it with his hometown if the smell of traffic was replaced with the smell of the sea. However, the atmosphere was different hear, almost heavier than the lighthearted air of Australia. While the demigod might've lost his accent, his heart was always on sunny beaches. He grinned as the car creaked to a stop, immediately scrambling out of the thing. "They sounded a lot better when they weren't talking," he remarked, his grin widening.  Tilting his head up to the neon sign, he nodded approvingly before following the older demigod in.

The scent of grease greeted them as they entered, earning another nod from Tobias. He loved pizza. Sliding into the spot across from Fey, he tapped his fingers on the table as his friend made a sarcastic comment. "Damn, you're killing me Fey; I was going to go off and be successful or some shit," the demigod said, chuckling at himself. The silence bothered him, so the son of Hermes made up for it with his random patterns, varying from annoying to decently acceptable.

His eyes widened at the sight of fresh pizza, and his tapping stopped. The first slice went straight to his stomach without effort, and then tempted him to grab for another. "Hell yeah," Tobias agreed in between bites. On his third piece, he listened to Fey's next idea. "They make those?" he exclaimed, eyes wide with anticipation. "Yeah, we need to, I feel like it's my divine purpose." With another chuckle, he finished off his last piece. This wouldn't be Tobias' first time stealing something, so any fear of being caught was nonexistent.

i won't listen anyway
Fey laughed at Tobias’ crude joke. He didn’t care if it was mean and disrespectful to the girls whom he was talking about, they weren’t here and so it didn’t matter. That was another thing Sebastian liked about his friend, he was able to make those kinds of jokes without being judged or yelled at for making them. One thing that his mother would not stand for was begin biased or mean to other people just because they weren’t as pretty or as rich as Fey. Even up to today, at this very moment, the demigod didn’t understand that rule. If they were lesser than him, or annoying or anything that he didn’t like, shouldn’t he tell them? Wasn’t it better to speak the truth rather than let it go unspoken? “Most girls do, yeah.”

As they ate their pizza, Fey couldn’t help but notice that he had made a great decision regarding Tobias. He ate as fast as him, if not slightly faster and more maniac, and they both agreed on so many things. Between the two of them there would be no click-flick moments, which is what Sebastian wanted in a relationship. He laughed at Tobias’ remark. He did a lot of laughing; it was how he coped to get through the things that weren’t at all happy. “Even with your ego you wouldn’t be as successful as me.” He told his friend as he took another slice of pizza. He’d missed authentic food. Back at camp, the food was okay, and at least it kept you full and focused enough to train for a couple hours, but it didn’t taste good. The food at camp was like dust in Sebastian’s mouth, crumbling into chalk as he chewed. At least here he could actually taste the cheese, dough, and meat that they’d put on it. He noticed that Tobias was rhythmically tapping, something Sebastian did far to often.

When Tobias agreed to go rob a candy store, Sebastian’s joy was undeniable. His smile went from pleasant to cheshire at, grinning from ear to ear so wide he thought his face might split. “Hell yes.” He’d been wanting to do this for so long, just get into mindless trouble, and Tobias was just the guy to do it with. “Yeah they do. Sometimes there bellies are hollowed out so you can put even more gummy bear in the stomach.” Soon they paid for their pizza and walked out, and Fey started driving to a candy store. "I feel like it’s mine too,"

Tobias Kelly
Tobias hardly ever felt guilty for what he said, the remark about females included. Something he had learned over the years was that people said whatever they wanted to regardless of what others thought. They would say things they didn't mean, things that were lies, or things that didn't make any sense. That was just how the world worked, this particular teenager included. He grinned as Fey agreed with him, not asking into the topic at all. Really, he didn't know a lot about the person whom he had rode in with. He knew his godly parent, his name, and that he liked pizza. Everything else was pretty irrelevant to him. Tobias respected few things, but privacy was something he couldn't live without.

Grease coated his lips and occasionally dripped down his chin from the speed that he was eating. Instead of using a napkin like a civil person, Tobias would just wipe it off with his wrist, then wipe his wrist on his jeans. He wasn't concerned with Fey judging him; he knew he wouldn't. That kind of unspoken trust was something he valued, even if he wouldn't ever say it. "Bullshit," he countered, smirking as he reached for another slice of pizza. "Everyone knows I'm the better looking one anyways; that's my kind of success," Tobias commented, chuckling. It wasn't, of course. The demigod's definition of success was loose, and limited to his mood on any particular day.

Finishing off his last slice of pizza, he looked over at Fey's grin. "Dude, watch it - your face might break," Tobias quipped, his smirk reigniting on his face. The demigod's heartbeat was racing as he felt himself getting more excited. Finally, a chance to do something totally reckless without worry of the consequences. "Seriously?" he asked, his eyes twinkling. "Let's not limit ourselves though, I'm sure there's tons of insane things to steal." He followed Fey out, wondering what kinds of extreme candy would be waiting for them at the store. The car creaked when Tobias got in, but he didn't care. They could be stranded without a way to get home, and he still wouldn't care. This was going to be an adventure.

i won't listen anyway

.:time skip bc i have muse for it:.
Once they got to the candy store, Fey and Tobias stepped inside. As Fey knew all the best places in town, he’d naturally picked the best one, despite not even living in this particular city. Mostly though, all the big cities were the same. Cramped living quarters, air filled with car exhaust which made the weak whither and crumble. Sebastian had lived in the city so long that he could no longer tell contaminated air from real air. All cities had loud people in them, yelling at each other to pick up the pace or to watch where they were going because they had places to be and they couldn’t be held up by assholes like them. Though the street names were different, it wasn’t hard to find this place, and in all honesty Sebastian had only gotten them lost once. The candy store was basically Willy Wonka’s factory, minus the greedy little children, the orange freaks, and the chocolate river. Each shelf was filled to the brim with an assortment of sweets, from laffy taffy to, you guessed it, 20 pound gummy bears. Fey turned to tobias, smiling slyly. “Do I have great ideas or what?”

Sebastian walked towards the back of the store and looked at some chocolate. Maybe he could take some of this home and give it to Cale… The demigod quickly shook his head. Where did that thought come from? It wasn’t like he and Cale were best friends, because that spot belonged to Tobias and Tobias alone. Fey and Cale weren’t dating, they both weren’t into each other. When he looked at the prices of the chocolate bars, he scrunched up his nose. It was a good idea they were stealing these things, because the prices were almost $15 dollars. Even hershey’s was too high at a price Because of his mother owning a string of hotels and restaurants, Sebastian knew a little about supply and demand, and people couldn’t demand chocolate if the prices were this high. He got up and walked to his friend. “Alright I say we grab some goddamn gummy bears and chocolate and get the hell outta here.” They were getting some curious glances, if they didn’t act soon their cover would be blown.
