When Brandon committed to something, he really, really committed. That was why, when he had an inspiration for a new blade, forged in a way he had never tried before, he worked. And worked. And worked. It had been in the middle of the night, and he woke up with a start, instantly bringing out a pencil and some paper. He spent a few hours drawing and writing out exactly what he was thinking, before going back to sleep. When he got up in the morning, he went straight to the armory to start really designing. He asked one of his siblings to bring some scrap celestial bronze, so he had plenty to use and experiment with to make sure he got it just right.

He had been pouring over his designs and the forge for hours. In fact, the other campers had just finished lunch and he hadn't eaten yet. He already had a few components for this new blade, and honestly, he didn't know what he would do with it once he was finished. He wasn't exactly a fan of using swords, so he'd probably give it to a friend, but he didn't know exactly who.

One of the reasons he had been there this long was that a certain component was giving him a lot of trouble. Occasionally he had given it a break, completed a different component and tried to come back to it but it just didn't seem to be working. The component was a winch that he was trying to design to be small enough to fit into the hilt of the sword but large enough to properly pull and hold the thick wire he needed. No matter how he tried it, he just couldn't seem to get it to work. At this point, he was hunched over, arms folded on the desk and his head resting on his arms. He was staring at the incomplete winch intensely, trying to think how to make it work, when suddenly the sound of a piece of metal against the floor jolted him upright, notifying him that he wasn't alone in the armory anymore.

Ariadne,

Aria barely ever went into the armory. The first time she got to camp, she equipped herself with the necessary weapons and armor. Besides for minimal maintenance upgrades to her sword (although she never used it and it was probably rotting away in the depths of her trunk now), Ariadne had barely been there since. Maybe once she had peeked in the door, but she would never go in. There were too many flying sparks and people and she did not have any particular need or want to get hit by an out of control sword at burning temperatures.

But here she was, meekly running around the camp. It was more of a wander, Ariadne had to admit to herself. She was running, or at least she had been. No Aria had nothing to do and she didn’t really want to go to lunch (Ariadne ate at odd times during the day, she was able to avoid most people that way), so she ended up just floating. This was actually kind of fun, Aria realized. The camp was like a map in a book, there were all these little places to explore and look at that Aria had never been too before.

She entered the armory without cautiously peering in like she usually did. No, Aria was far too lost in her own world for that. Soon she was immersing herself in looking at the tools, from a distance of course, Ariadne was a little too cautious for that. Suddenly, there was a sizzle in the background and Ariadne jumped backwards, her eyes wide open. It was clear she had not expected anyone else to be here, considering it was lunchtime. ”Oh I’m so sorry!” She said quickly.

Elijah Connery
Eli was in the shop, of course, as he always was from early in the morning until dusk, with the occasional pause for eating anything in sight. Right now he was working on the bumper of some Demeter kid's truck. The metal was dented, and apparently not appealing to the guy's girlfriend, or something. Anyways, the job was supposed to be quick, at least that's what the guy told Eli. The demigod didn't like being rushed, but figured the repair wouldn't take long. After taking off the bolts that held the bumper in place, he was ready to begin the process.

The teenager had given Eli the new bumper that was supposed to fit on the truck, in hope that the repair would be just as simple as that. Take one chunk of metal off, and put a new one on. However, when Eli was setting the bolts into the new bumper so that it could be set back on the vehicle, the bolts didn't fit. At first, the son of Hephaestus assumed it was his mistake, and one that could be fixed. He wrestled with the metal for a while before he figured out that the bolts were not moving, no matter the persuasion methods he used.

Comparing the old bumper to the new bumper, he realized that the two weren't the same kind. The metal was longer on the new one, with larger circles for the screws. Damn. So, maybe this repair wouldn't be so easy. Eli could make a new bumper for the truck, but it might not be in time for his client's needs. Whatever, his problem, not Eli's. Deciding that he deserved lunch, the teenager headed into the forge, and noticed his half brother Brandon working on something new. He also noted a girl who looked like she didn't exactly belong by so many sharp objects. "Whatcha working on, Brandon?" he asked, wiping grease off of his hand and onto his jeans. Casting a passive glance at the girl, he turned his attention back to the weapon in progress. "Is that for her?" he questioned, his eyebrows raising as a smirk formed on his lips.

Brandon made a sharp 180° turn so that he was facing the girl. He was surprised by the sound, but he was just glad it wasn't anyone, or anything, dangerous. He smiled, before walking towards her and saying "No worries, there was no harm done. I was just surprised is all. I'm Brandon." By the time he had finished talking, he was standing next to her, his bionic arm extended to shake her hand. After having it so long, the thought that it might surprise someone who didn't know him completely slipped his mind.

At the sound of his half-brother's voice, he turned again, smiling and facing Elijah. It was always good to have someone like-minded around, and Elijah definitely fell into that category. "I'm working on a new sword. Have been since this morning." At his question about it being for the girl, he answered "No. Well, maybe. If she wants it. I don't know. It's not for me though." Brandon thanked the gods that the fires in the armory hid the slight blush he had. He wasn't exactly the best with girls around. "What've you been working on?" He said, trying (and failing) to change the subject without drawing attention to the tone of his voice that accompanied the blush.
