Boulevard of Broken Dreams
Ayden Smith

Ayden, 18 years old and able to survive hell, was no stranger to the abnormalities at camp, being here for more than two years. One thing he marveled at daily was the climbing wall. He wondered how Chiron and Mr. D could allow that thing on campus. The top spewed lava and knives and swords stuck out of the sides like it was not a big deal. It was. The climbing wall was a disaster waiting to happen and today Ayden saw that happen when a girl -no more than 9- fell off the wall when she was but halfway up.

Ayden Smith was also no stranger to helping people, especially little kids such as this one. Back in the orphanage in Chicago, he was sometimes assigned the job of helping bandage up the children when they got scraped knees. There were too many kids to keep track of, and not enough helpers to get the job done. Ayden had been there the longest, he was the strongest and also the oldest child at St. Mary's, therefore he played doctor. So compared to the cases of dislocated shoulders and bruised ribs, falling a couple of feet was no feat for Ayden Michael Smith.

He rushed over to the girl and was almost instantly at her side, helping her up. Ayden would have preferred to watch the stars, but alas, there were no stars in the daytime. "You had quite a fall there, Humpty Dumpty. Luckily I can put you back together again." Ayden said smiling at the little girl who was almost a decade younger than him.

Boulevard of Broken Dreams
Ayden Smith

Ayden smiled again, happy that Rose wasn't seriously injured enough to talk. Some kids back at St. Marys had mouths too full of blood to even form words. You could thank the crime rates of the outer skirts of the city for that. One time, Ayden had been asked to join a gang. He declined. There was a much better life for him than becoming a fugitive. The demigod boy aspired to go among the stars, to 'go where no man has gone before' if you'd like to put it that way.

"I'm Ayden." He said, preoccupied with checking Primrose over. She didn't seem to have any broken bones, which was good. Still, he couldn't be sure until she actually told him. "Son of Urania, that's a muse." He continued to say, running his hands through his brown hair that stuck up at every angle. Not that he minded. It gave him a mad scientist look which Ayden enjoyed.

"You fell. About er, half the height of the big house. So that's what, fifteen, twenty feet? Good thing us demigods are resilient, or you'd be about as flat as a pancake considering your height." Ayden was rambling, just like he always had and always would continue to do. He was smart. Almost as smart as an Athena kid. Ayden Smith had things to say about the world, and someday he'd be heard.

i smile at him and say"Well this is awkward. Ummmm I really don't remember falling. As bad as the year was, we can take a little solace in this finish, ... We'll spend these next two months regrouping, getting our team back in order. I feel like there's no reason why we can't... be friends."I say to him almost crying. It was almost like the world hated me.
