iris eileen west

"i want to see the stars."

"Couldn't I just show you my birth certificate?"
Age: Sixteen
Date of Birth: June 12th, 1997
Gender: Female
Family: Joni West
Godly Parent: Hermes, god of travelers
Birthplace: Austin, Texas, U.S.A.
"It's the past...who cares?"
History: Iris was born on a rainy Tuesday evening. Her mother was a lonely, broke, musician, playing on the streets for money. Joni was ashamed for having a one night stand and ending up pregnant. She was worried about her daughter, because she didn't feel like the right person to be a mom. However, she couldn't bring herself to give this baby up. When she was handed her daughter for the first time, she noticed how her irises were her favourite colour, chocolate brown. So, Joni called her Iris.
Joni never got used to being a mother. Iris could tell that her mom wasn't a normal mom when she was growing up. Her mom never had any rules besides, "Don't get arrested" or "Don't be stupid".
Iris had a very free childhood in other words. She liked adventure and traveling. She would wander the streets of Austin hopelessly everyday. She'd arrive home around dusk, and her mother and her would eat cake for dinner and discuss politics and music. Iris was always happy, being in her own world.
She was essentially "homeschooled" by her mother until age ten, when Joni finally got a full time job as a waitress. Iris was nervous, as she was driven to a big private school by her mother the first morning. She asked why she had to go to school, and why her mother could just go back to her old part time jobs, the ones where she had time to see her. Joni explained that the school and the job was going to be better in the long run, and it would probably take a few years for Iris to realize it.
Iris never did though, at the school part. She got used to her mother not being around as much. She understood that she was just trying to make their lives better. However, school drove Iris mad. She never made any friends, because most of the girls were frilly and rich, and they disliked her for being poor. She didn't let it get to her though, she just ignored them, and tried to focus on classwork. However, she couldn't do that either. She had ADHD, making it almost impossible for her to sit still and focus. She eventually started begging her mom to let her be homeschooled again. Her mother said she would if she could, but she sadly could not.
Still seeking adventure, Iris hopped aboard a train for Manhattan when she was thirteen. She wanted to see the world. So, she did.
Iris discovered she was a demigod relatively quickly during her travels. A caduceus appeared above her head one night, and it started to move. Going on pure adrenaline, she followed it, all the way to Long Island. She spent a few weeks at Camp Half Blood, then grew bored of it. She went away again, traveling across the country, and eventually the world. She went to Europe, Austrailia, South America, and tons of other places. She would stop by Camp and Austin occasionally, but she never has stayed in the same place for longer than a year.
Years at Camp: On and off, but all together about two
Claimed: Yes
"This is me, what else do you want? A journal entry?"
Physical Appearance:
Personality: Iris is impressionable and receptive, and she often feels the misfortunes of others very keenly. However, she's very awkward, and can't really to express her deeper thoughts and feelings with finesse and diplomacy. She has a candid, sometimes blunt, manner of speaking that creates misunderstandings with others. Being somewhat self-centered, she learns through her own experiences. Iris rarely takes advice from others. Yet, she's sensitive and very easily hurt and offended. Sometimes Iris longs for praise and appreciation, having not ever received it from anyone but her mother, but others find it difficult to understand her and her motives. Iris dislikes monotony and system. She also enjoys being creative in an inventive way whether it be in music, art, or other endeavors that require versatility and skill. She's imaginative and visionary, somewhat of a perfectionist, yet the results of her efforts often fall short of her high expectations. She's not the type enjoy leadership, but she'd rather direct than be directed. Iris dislikes commitment, which is part of her reasons for her constant travel. She's very independent, and is not very good at making new friends. She likes to present herself a mysterious and interesting, when she's just a girl with a ticket to the world.
Talents: Stealing, Manipulating
Fatal Flaw: Her lack of commitment. Iris is very lazy sometimes, and also does not like to pick sides. She's a wanderer, and is unlikely to team up with people, which leads to very few fighting skills.
Pets: None
Song: Hopeless Wanderer by Mumford and Sons
Nicknames: Ris
Other: Iris's colour is #00CC99.

louis parker jones

"i'm so suave that you could use me as shampoo."

Age: Nineteen
Date of Birth: March 17th, 1995
Gender: Male
Family: Donna Jones- Donna came from a middle class family from Key West. She got a job working at a joke shop when she was in college. There she met Hermes. She had no idea he was a god, but she fell in love within a few weeks. He kept returning to the store every now and then to see her. Eventually, she began seeing him, not for long though. However, she ended up pregnant six months later. She told Hermes, and said that he wouldn't be there for long, but he wanted to see his child. So, he stayed for the first two months of his son's life, then left. Donna was heartbroken, but continued on and raised her son the best she could.
Godly Parent: Hermes-God of Thieves
Birthplace: Fort Lauderdale, Florida, United States
History: Louis grew up in a paper town as John Green put it. His mother worked as a waitress while he grew up. They lived in a tiny apartment on the main drag of Ft. Lauderdale. He was a very troublesome child. At age nine he was suspended from school for gluing the principal to her chair. He always was pulling pranks, making jokes; he was the class clown. He never had really good friends, since most of them just thought it was cool to hang out with him. Then at age eleven, Louis developed scoliosis, and everybody made fun of him for wearing a brace and having a "girl disease". Eventually, he "got better" and stopped wearing the brace. The kids at school eventually forgot about Louis being "lame". On his fifteenth birthday, him and his friends went out to dinner. A girl there kept staring at him, so he went over to her. She said that she was like him and that there was a place they could go for people like them. Louis thought that meant "Let's go make out in the bathroom because no one understands us." So, he followed her, but she took him to the airport of all places, and they went to Camp Half Blood. Louis has been there ever since.
Years at Camp: Four Years
Claimed: Yes
Physical Appearance: Louis has shaggy, messy, brown hair. He's very thin. He's quite tall though. He never cares what he wears and often wears the same clothes a few days in a row. He normally just wears his camp t-shirt and jeans. He has an old beat-up pair of sneakers that he's had since forever.
Personality: Louis is a classic troublemaker. He's constantly joking, hardly ever serious. He's a fun person. He's good in small doses though. A lot of people despise him for constantly not caring about anything. He's very relaxed about everything. He used to act all, anarchy, rebellion from society. Now he's more like, "I don't give crap." He acts like he's full of him as well, but he's only partially kidding. He's a very calm and collected person who has no idea what he wants to do in life.
Fatal Flaw:Lack of seriousness. Louis is a jokester, and though good in battle, not exactly the most controlled demigod.
Talents: Louis isn't very athletic, though he does enjoy running. He also is very good at getting what he wants. He's excellent at stealing, and he can easily manipulate people. He also plays a mean game of basket ball.
Pets:Louis has never owned a pet, though he would like to.
Song: Drunk by Ed Sheeran
Nicknames: Lou
Other: Louis's colour is green.

agatha jane morrow

"did you say something? i was too busy not giving a crap."

Age: Eighteen
Date of Birth: January 1st, 1995
Gender: Female
Family: Imogene Morrow-
Imogene came from a wealthy family in Florida. She never ever liked being polite, proper,or being ladylike. Her family always looked at her as the "runt of the liter". When she was seventeen, she went out and got tattoos and piercings, and started acting like a rebel to piss her family off. She left home straight after high school. She moved to an old, grimy apartment in Manhattan. She lived there for a year, but her rebellious and fighting attitude stuck with her. She still wanted to do something in the world as well. So, at age nineteen, Imogene enlisted in the military. She was mainly in the reserves though. However, she met Ares there. She was drawn to him, as any mortal would be drawn to a god. Ares liked her spunk and one night, they hooked up. Only, Imogene ended up pregnant. By this time, Ares had vanished. She had no idea what to do. She asked where he was, and no one seemed to have any recollection of him being there. Confused, scared, and nervous, Imogene worked quickly to get a discharge. She did, and went back home to Manhattan. A few months later, she had a baby girl. The girl didn't have a name for the first six  months of her life. Then, Imogene found out that her mother and grandmother had died in a hit and run accident. Grieving, Imogene decided to name her girl after her grandmother, Agatha, and her mother, Jane. Imogene never remarried. She worked many jobs to help keep her and Agatha going. As her daughter became more like she had, she said nothing, because she knew that her daughter was smarter than she had been.
Godly Parent: Ares-God of War
Birthplace: Manhattan, New York, United States
History: Agatha was born and raised in the city that never sleeps. She grew up very underprivileged. Her mother was constantly working, and was rarely home. At age three, she was tossed into a makeshift daycare, run out of Imogene's friend's apartment. There Agatha made friends that she kept her whole life, including her best friend Courtney, whom she did everything with. Agatha spent most of her childhood outdoors or at Courtney's house. She never liked or did well in school. She didn't have much ambition. She was extremely lazy, and she ended up quitting school when she was sixteen. She got a job working in a bar near her house. One night, she was home from work early, and she sat on the fire escape, watching the city lights begin to flicker on. Suddenly, she noticed a white van below. It said something about strawberries on it. Normally, she wouldn't question it, but the nearest food store was at least two blocks away. She peered down at the van. Soon, three teenagers popped out of it. One girl was on crutches, the other two carried...swords? Agatha tried dismissing the foolish thought. Then, she heard them mention her name. She called down, asking what they wanted. The three looked startled, but they told her how they were like her, and that there was a place for them. Agatha didn't quite understand, but  she saw this as an oppurtunity to escape her dead-end life. She went with the trio to a place called Camp Half-Blood, where she was instantly claimed as a daughter of Ares. Later in the month, Agatha returned to Manhattan, and explained how Ares was her father to her mother. Imogene was scared at first, but she slowly adjusted. Agatha lives at camp, but she often goes to visit her mother.
Years at Camp: One Year
Claimed: Yes
Physical Appearance: Aggie's natural hair colour is a lovely light auburn. She started dying her hair at twelve. At first, it was loud colours like blue, bright red, and purple. She eventually toned it down, and dyed it dark brown with a few ice blonde highlights., which is its current colour. She has very fair skin, which easily burns. She has two nose rings, and has gages in her ears as well as several cartilage piercings and rings. She likes painting her nails dark colours, and she wears dark eyeliner. She's not exactly goth, or emo. She despises those terms. She considers herself punkish.
Personality: Aggie comes across as tough, cruel, and unforgiving. She presents herself as a harsh daughter of war. However, she's not like that all the time. In fact, she's against war a lot of the time. She's also not as confident as she appears. She's very insecure about herself, because she believes that she is not a good as other demigods, due to her lack of interest in anything that's not physical. She's quiet around friends a lot, but she can always be loud and fun when she's not sad. She has depression, so she's often sitting in the corner, trying not to break down. She is very upset about her past. She regrets a lot of her decisions, and wishes she could get a redo at life. She often feels useless and unnecessary. She's the opposite of perfect.
Fatal Flaw: Lack of Ambition-Agatha does not know what she would like to do with her life, and she'd much rather sit and be a lazy hermit than fight in a battle.
Talents: Aggie never felt very talented growing up. Her friends were all artists, but she was always athletic. She loves running, climbing, and hiking. She is very good with weaponry. Her best area is swords.
Pets: Aggie never truly felt bonded with any animal, though she had a cat growing up.
Song: Figure It Out by VersaEmerge
Nicknames: Aggie
Other: Aggie's colour is powderblue.
Playby: Sierra Kusterbeck

athena
goddess of wisdom and battle strategy

In Character

What is your name?
My name is Athena. I'm the goddess of wisdom and battle strategy.
Describe yourself in five words or less.
I'm intelligent, manipulative, cunning, strong, and stubborn.
What is something most people don't know about you?
People assume I'm like every other god and find mortals and demigods useless and idiotic. I however, go back and forth on this subject. I like mortals, and I think they can be helpful, but I do occasionally find them just annoying and tiny.
How do you feel about Camp Half-Blood?
I feel that it is our future, in a sense. Our children learn there, it's how they prepare to fight. My brothers and sisters may just think of them as pawns, and I do sometimes, but they have saved us before thanks to their training. I admire Chiron for putting up with adolescents for so long as well.
Where would you go on a first date?
I would not normally go on a date, because I am sworn a maiden. However, if I was to go on a date, I would like to go a museum. It does seem rather dull, but I enjoy the vast history of, and how far they have come.
What is your favourite season? Why?
My favourite season would have to be autumn, because mortals return to school and learn once again. Also, I love when the leaves peak and make the world be beautifully painted with all those colours.
If you were stuck on an island with three objects that could not be used to transport you back to main land, what would they be?
Can I bring multiple of the same item and have it count as one? If so, I would bring lots of books. I love reading. It keeps my brain sharp and entertains me. I would also bring my loom so I could weave. Lastly, I'd bring a scroll and quill to write ideas and thoughts down on. Even if I was stranded, may as well think.
If you could meet anyone in the world for lunch (living or deceased), who would it be and what would you talk about?
I would love to meet the mortal called Shakespeare. I read his plays and found them brilliant, interesting, suspenseful, and just great for mortal standards. If I did have lunch with him, I would love to discuss his choices and his ideas about the world.
You just won the lottery! What is the first thing that you do?
Well, I am torn between two. One idea is to do nothing with it, since logically it has no value to me. Another idea would be to give it to an education charity. What I would probably do, is give it to all my children at Camp Half Blood and see what they would do with it. I would hope they would be wise with their spending.
Quick! You are looking for a box of tampons at the drug store when you hear a CRASH and a shrill SCREECH and someone screaming. You run over to investigate and find that a dracana is terrorizing the hair supply aisle. What do you do?
Well, I would make sure all the mortals cleared out of the location immediately. There is no need for innocent lives to end, no matter how useless or unintelligent the person may be. Once they were all gone, I would think up a way to trick the dracana into somehow trapping or killing herself. I am not one for weapons.

Out of Character

Physical Appearance: Athena has curly hair. It changes color often. When she is on Olympus, it is dirty blonde. When she is pretending to be a mortal, it is black or blonde, like her children's. She has olive skin and gray eyes that beam with wisdom. She looks sophisticated and wears olive coloured robes. She is not one for fashion, clearly, so she does not care about how she looks.

Personality: Athena is extremely intelligent, and extremely stubborn. She thinks her ideas are the best of all, and is not easily persuaded. She often thinks herself as the more level headed of the gods, which is true, but only to some extent. She is very cunning and is not afraid to do the unexpected. She is fine with putting her trust in demigods, though she is conflicted about how she feels about them. Most of the time, Athena will differ from the other gods and think them bright and talented, but she will sometimes think of them as foolish, small, and unimportant like her brothers and sisters. Athena is manipulative. She is excellent at getting people to do what she wants and tricking them. While Athena considers herself just a strong goddess, she is much more than that.

Sample Roleplay: I strode around the throne room. It was almost silent. None of my family were out. They were attending to their duties as usual. I looked back at the open door I'd come through. I could hear father and Poseidon bickering if I listened closely. I quietly chuckled at their silliness and I continued my walk. My duties for they day had been fulfilled. I had been wise and finished them earlier in the morning.
I was growing bored of the throne room already. However, I made my way to my throne. I sat down, resting my chin in my hand and placing my other on the arm rest. I sighed, and blew a strand of blonde hair from my face. I just sat and stared into space for a moment, thinking of my children. Unlike my peers, I did care about them. I loosely waved my free hand in the air in front of me. Images, like a slideshow, flashed in front of me. My kids at Camp Half Blood were fighting the titans. I did hope they would be alright. I considered helping, but of course my family would be against it. Images of my unclaimed children flashed by as well. They were younger, and I wanted them to be able to lead a normal life before they had to take on their true one.
I noticed one of my daughters. She appeared to be excitedly entering a library I didn't remember her name. She had curly blonde hair tied back in pony tail. She couldn't have been more than six. She looked so innocent, so young. She had no idea who I was. Maybe she had a stepmother.
An idea came to my mind. With a snap of my fingers, I found myself in the library. I stood at the check out desk. I looked down at myself. I wore an argyle, olive shirt, black slacks, a brown loafers. My hair was blonde and exceptionally curly. I wore thin glasses. I looked at a pile of books in front of me. One was called, 'A Short Guide to Greek Mythology'. It appeared to be a children's book. A smile crept upon my face. My gray eyes scanned the library. I saw my child skipping towards the children's section. My hand clasped the book, and I began walking towards her.
By the time I had reached her, she was looking short chapter books. I saw her father following her slowly. I smiled at him. His eyes widened and I put a finger to my lips. I reached the little girl and tapped her on the shoulder. She turned around, and looked frightened.
'Don't worry, I won't bite,' I told her. She giggled, revealing that she was missing her two front teeth. I smiled once again.
'What's your name?' I asked her.
'Sally,' she told me.
'Well, Sally, I think I have a good book for you," I explained. She was smiling now herself.
'Really?' she asked. I nodded. I pulled the Mythology book from behind my back and showed her. Her eyes widened with joy.
'It looks cool!' she exclaimed, 'What's it about?'
'It's stories about magical people called gods and goddesses. They existed hundreds of years ago and helped create the world.' Her smile widened.
'That sounds really neat! Can I read it?' she asked.
'You certainly can!' I laughed. I handed the book to her, and she ran to one of the nearby tables and sat down. She opened up the book and she began reading. My smile faded, realizing that now I had to go, I glanced over at her father. He nodded at me and I nodded back. I walked back to the check out counter, and snapped my fingers again.
I was back on my throne again, and the images were back. I sighed, and waved my hand once again. They disappeared. I stood, and began walking to the hallway. I could hear the voices of my family once again. As I reached the door, I looked back at my throne. Little Sally. She would one day know who I was. For now, she was normal. She didn't need to know that her mother was one of the almighty gods she was reading about. I told myself that she didn't matter, that she was just another demigod. So, I left the room, and tried to to forget about it.

Why do you deserve this character?
Ever since I started reading mythology, Athena has been my favourite goddess. I thought she was amazing. I love intelligence, and I thought she was my idol. She stuck as my favourite ever since. I would love to roleplay as Athena because I feel that I can bring the character to life and not have her just be a strict and powerful goddess. I also feel that I deserve to play her because I have been a member of this site for three years and I deeply enjoy roleplaying.
