Ultraviolet [non-event] -private-

Sunlight, sand, the waves. This young satyress was happy for the warm weather once again, sprawled out on a beach towel, wearing a red with white polka dots bikini, tanning herself. Round, white, vintage sunglasses sat over her eyes as she dozed in the warm sun. A beach bag and cooler sat nearby, and a bottle of sunscreen sat next to her. She wanted to tan, not get skin cancer after-all. Today should be lovely.

At first, she just tried to ignore him, then he kept talking. Sighing, she pushed her sunglasses up and looked at him, frowning. "Fine. We'll talk. But I'm not getting in the water,it's bad for my fur." Sitting up, she grabbed a cola from her cooler and popped the cap off on her hoof. "I was born here. Dunno if I have parents. Dunno if I just, appeared. No one told me. They just found me out there." She shrugged. "Been here since. Anymore questions?"

"I'm not even sure if I have a family in the first place. Some people don't have families... it shouldn't be weird that they don't. It's attitudes like that, that make them feel like outsiders." Ama frowned, shifting her shades back onto her hair, settling neatly behind her bangs. Thinking she sighed. "I think I was around 12. Some nut summoned a monster when we were doing capture the flag. I never even saw it coming. Got blindsided. Woke up two days later, concussion and some bruising. But I lived, obviously."

"You should really ask before you just take things." She gave him a dirty look, but turned back to the water. "Why are you so obnoxious? Why don't you have any manners? Are you always a big head?" She asked coldly, snatching her sunscreen bottle back from him, snapping it shut and stuffing it into her bag.

He sighed staring off into the water, his voice changed form a hyper teens to a serious adults. "Have you ever... Been afraid? Looked at something and thought that no mater what you did... There was no way you could live up to those standered?" He started to shake a little, holding his knees to his chest. "Its... My way of compensating... I try to ignore the out side world the best i can. Either by skipping training to go swim in a lake, or just walking around in a forest. I try to have manners, but around friends they slip a little." He rested his chin on his knees, eyes lost in the waters in front of them. "Sorry..."

"There is nothing wrong with being scared. Just don't let it turn you into an asshole." Ama frowned, shifting and laying back on her blanket again. "Everyone is scared here. This war coming... we're all scared. But we can't just sit here and let it screw us. We have to fight. Train harder. If you don't, it's a very real reality that you could die, or get someone else killed." Stretching out, she sighed, settling in, ready to doze again.

"Right... thanks" He stood looking walking over to the water. "Im going to do a couple laps. If you need anything let me know." Jason smiled back at her, running in and diving into the water he began to swim as fast as he could.

"Try not to drown, I don't want to get wet saving you." She offered lazily, rolling onto her tummy to tan her back. This kid was an idiot, but she had to keep an eye on him. Maybe he'd grow out of it? Probably not. She dozed, dreaming of ice cream and coke.
