I tried to stay out of trouble. I really did. But being a halfblood doesn't permit that. Being a hated halfblood makes it worse. It wasn't bad this time though. It didn't take a lot of skill to take out the hell hound that put me here. It managed to catch me off guard while on my typical run. It was only a few seconds of fighting, but it was enough to do damage. It popped out of the woods, wrap his jaws around my side, lifted me up in the air and applied pressure. I managed to deliver one good sword blow to its eye. That was all she wrote. Still, those teeth were sharp, and there was a lot of pressure on my ribs. I thought this was one of the times i needed to go to the infirmary, no matter how much I hated this place. The medics had just patched me up, but they insisted I stayed the night to make sure there wasn't a punctured lung or whatever. They told me I only had three broken ribs, but I was wanting to tell them otherwise. My entire side ached with pain every time I breathed. It wasn't hard to tell I'd have some trouble these next weeks. My feet hanged off the end of the bed, with my toes touching the ground. I absent mindedly was assessing myself in the mirror. I technically had no shirt, but with all the gauze and bandages they had wrapped around me it didn't really matter. I was as good as wearing a shirt up to my armpits. I looked just a little bit at my tightly wrapped abdomen before moving my gaze to the mirror image of my face. I still had the scar on my cheek from when I first met Georgia. That was a great date, and I was a little bit eager to do it again. Halfbloods never lived long, and I was probably getting close to dying. I was about to age out of camp, which is when most halfbloods die. The point being, I only had a short time left on this planet, I wanted to spend it with people I enjoyed.

Georgia was rushing in the infirmary, pulling her hair into a ribbon-drawn ponytail. She hadn't meant to be late for her night shift, but someone had misplaced her shoes, most likely a younger camper; not that she minded. Giving a smile to the Apollo girl she was replacing, she began doing her usual rounds, checking the patients that had been healing for a week or so first.

"Any new patients?" she asked her shift manager, checking off her list of mandatory duties. The head nymph lazily motioned over to a boy with his chest almost entirely covered in bandages. Her green eyes wide, she simply nodded. Georgie threw her clipboard onto the counter top before jogging over to the patient, pulling herself a chair next to him. Brushing a lose strand of her blonde hair behind her ear she read his list of injuries aloud.

"Three broken ribs, several bites positioned around the chest in a semi-circle, possible punctured lung," she concluded, raising an eyebrow at Christopher. Gee wanted to say she was disappointed in the teenage troublemaker, but she couldn't bring herself to it, guessing that the run in with the hellhound was a mistake on his part. "How bad does it sting?" she asked, her eyes wandering over the makeshift bandaging, obviously done by a rookie medic. Georgia's trained eye picked out several flaws in the fabric that bubbled up in large clumps on Christopher's chest.

I jump at the sound of a voice. It cause a lot of pain to my ribs but I was cool. Pain was no stranger to me. I recognized the voice as Gee's and quickly turn to face her. Her face brought a smile to my face, even through my grimace. "Gee!" I say rising to my feet. It took a lot of my strength to raise my arms and to give her a hug, but it was worth it. I was quick to sit down on my bed after that. I was breathing a little heavy which hurt my side even more. I pat the side of the cot twice motioning for her to sit beside me. I had a book like I usually did, but it was sitting on the table. I usually got them in Greek, just cause it was easier, an this was no exception. I might end up teaching Gee a little bit of Greek if she didn't know it already. I really didn't know what was going to happen. It is what it is. "It's great to see you again!"

Georgia wasn't expecting him to move for her, if at all. Broken ribs usually came along with difficult breathing and pain from moving up and down quickly. None the less, she light embraced him, careful not to touch the fractured bones. She watched him lie back down with a heavy heart, wincing at the likely pain soaring through him.

A soft smile lit up her face as she took a seat where he motioned, cautiously positioning herself to prevent from hurting Christopher. "I was hoping to see you, I hadn't planned on it being here," she replied with a small laugh, her emerald eyes wandering to the book on his nightstand. "Trouble really must adore you," Gee stated with a small chuckle.

She watched him nervously, wishing there was a way she could help decrease his hours in the infirmary. With worried eyes she scanned every part of the situation, listing possible reactions in her mind. "Are you comfortable enough?" She asked, ready to help in any way possible. It wasn't just instinct for this patient, it was a want.

"I'm the definition of trouble." I say smiling at her comment on trouble liking me. I wasn't so fond of that fact, but it is what it is. I wasn't a hundred percent sure what it was with Gee, but I always felt a little nervous when she was around. Like I was afraid I was going to screw something up. Which was odd for me. Now I was fiddling with the sheet on the bed. She asked if I was comfortable, which really was not possible at this point. Broken ribs prohibit that. Before I respond I lean in and place my forehead on her head and whisper in her in, "I'm a lot better now that you're here." I then just lean in and kiss her cheek again. That was as far as I felt comfortable doing at this point. I knew leaning over and trying to keep balance wasn't my greatest idea, but I never imagined it'd be that bad. I wince in pain and quickly sit back up straight. I took a few short steady breaths before just smiling. That might have been a really bad moment to realize I felt pain, and it was probably best for me laugh it off instead of getting embarrassed about it. That seemed to be a good answer. "So, uh..." I say trying to think of something to do. Finally I decide to just go on with what I had first thought of. "Do you know Greek yet?"

Georgia smiled at his response, refraining from rolling her eyes. It was unladylike and rude. She felt like her question was invalid, considering that anything broken usually left the victim in more pain that most cuts or burns. Her eyes wandered over to his fingers as they fiddled with the sheets, know truly knowing her though was stupid. How could anyone be comfortable if every breath brought more pain than the last?

His injuries hadn't affected the heat that radiated off of his body as he leaned in. Gee felt her face blush bright crimson as he kissed her cheek, another bright smile lighting up her face. "Maybe I should've come to my shift early," the demigod whispered back. Remembering his condition as he did, she cringed at the idea that he was in more pain than he had been before.

She didn't quite believe his smiles, but went along with them none the less. Gee knew all to well that Christopher wasn't feeling as good as his facial expression seemed. At his question, she felt her face blush harder. "Oh... no," the demigod responded timidly. "Education for girls wasn't considered back in the nineteen hundreds," Georgia explained with a small shrug. Nervously brushing a curl behind her ear, she rubbed her hands together. "I barely can read my checklist sometimes," she admitted.

I give an even larger smile when she comments on how she shoud've come to her shift sooner. She commented on not really having an education, and almost instantly I felt like a jerk for not remembering that. Being the son of the god of time, I was a bit a of a history buff. You couldn't really tell if you were around me, just cause I didn't act like that. I didn't spout random historical facts. The only time I might do that, is if I was near an Athena child. Then they'd just respect me for knowing that, instead of being amazed that I actually knew something besides how to fight. I grabbed the book quickly before my body would have time to yell at me for moving. "There's a first time for everything" I say not really wanting to respond to her not reading her own list. I didn't want to make her feel foolish for being born way before any of us were. "Besides half bloods usually have a better time reading Greek. I do. I took my free hand and placed it on hers, wanting to wait before asking her, but not wanting to open up for a large conversation inbetween. After a few seconds of waiting I open my mouth to speak again. "What do you say?"

Georgia always felt undereducated, even though most demigods didn't bother reading English, she cared about education. All she was ever taught was to do housework and watch over the family, always keeping a soft smile plastered on your face despite your emotions. "I could've grabbed that," she muttered as Christopher began to move again. Pity flashing over her face, the blush was still present as he placed his hand on her's.

She simply shrugged at his comment, knowing that he meant well by the thought. "Well, I guess," Gee replied. Crossing her legs, the demigod let out a small laugh. "Sure," she finally agreed, her green eyes glancing over at the book in his hands.

Nervously brushing her hair out of her ponytail, the demigod tried to get into a comfortable position again. It didn't really work with the edge of the cot being made of a thin strip of wood. Finally deciding to lay her back against the nightstand, sitting on the ground, she looked up at him. "Okay, so where do we start?" Georgia asked.

"Well the alphabet is a good place to start" I say flipping the cover. On the first page was a bunch of characters most people wouldn't know what to do with. For most half bloods it came naturally. Since Greek was the language everything was written in, it was most useful to know. The book I held wasn't a book typically used for teaching. It was actually a book that another one of the "rejects" picked up for me. It was a son of chaos or someone else people feared. I looked at the letters and it took me a few seconds to grasp that she was seeing something compleatly different then i was. I scan the page for a few seconds before finding what I was looking for. I point at it with my finger. "That's Alpha. It represents the letter A." I say. Then I feel foolish. I was needing to teach her English and Greek at the same time. "It makes the ah sound in apple." I had never taught anyone to do this before so I was trying to make it easy to understand without making it so simple as to make her feel stupid. I spent most of the time trying to find the letters of the Greek alphabet in a Greek book. It sounds so simple but was one of the harder things I had to do. I finish with the alphabet and look blankly at the page. I didn't really know where I was wanting to go so I was at a lose for words. Finally I decide that it would be best to read a sentence for her, and what better place to start at the top. Before I said anything I used a lot of space filler noises like "So", "Uh", and "Um". Then the words finally came out. "A sentence like this would just be read using the letter sounds. So this sentence would be "It was a pleasure to burn." I say while using my finger to underline the characters Ήταν μια ευχαρίστηση να κάψει. "Does that make any sense?"
