Let us die young or let us live forever
We don't have the power but we never say never
Sitting in a sandpit, life is a short trip
The music's for the sad men

    Name: Ada Jones
    Gender: Female
    Age/Birthday: 17 / June 8, 1995

    God Parent: Hemera
    Claimed: Yes
    Years at Camp: None
    Year-Round or Summer: Year-Round

    Mortal Family:
David Jones was just an everyday man before his life seemed to get complicated. His days were as normal as could be. He worked as a sales representative for a local department store. When he got home, he was likely to order Chinese or Thai food for dinner if he wasn't in the mood to cook. He took pleasure in hot, well-made coffee on cold mornings and in warm towels after taking a swim. Every summer, he would take two weeks off from work in order to go north to his cabin in Canada, where he would swim and hike.

When he ran into someone who he initially thought to be one of his college friends, he thought he had just met an everyday woman. Turned out she was actually a Greek goddess. Who'da thunk it?

David was young when he met Hemera and he had certainly not been planning to have a child until he was at least married. But what do you know - a month after he began seeing her, he found a baby stroller complete with a baby inside his apartment - and no Hemera in sight. And then, David was a father. He bought a small house because his cheap, one bedroom apartment clearly would not cut it and he discovered just how much diapers would bore a hole in his wallet. Being a father was certainly a learning experience for David, and he came out of it a slightly more weary but also more responsible and overall, better person. Ada and David get along very well, rarely fighting or getting snappy with one another.

Appearance-wise, David is a tall (5'11") man who is relatively fit - although he is starting to get a bit of a pot belly, much to his horror. His once light brown hair is now salt and pepper and his eyes are the same blue as Ada's.

Brief History: Ada was just another kid on the block until the Fire Nation hellhounds attacked.

Sure, she struggled in school a bit, it was to be expected with her ADHD and dyslexia, but she managed to muscle on through and she passed her grades with a solid C+/B- average that made her feel a certain sense of pride. Despite her friends' teasing, she knew that she wasn't stupid, at least not in the traditional sense of the word. She ran around a lot and never did one thing for too long. Most of her early teenage years were comprised of many, many hobbies that she tried out and then quickly moved on from. The only weird thing was that her father wouldn't let her use computers that much (although he did get her a cell phone for emergencies, but there was no texting, just calling which was completely lame). Ada didn't really care though, since she secretly thought Google was taking over everyone's lives.

As she neared the age of sixteen and continued to have no run-ins with monsters, her father honestly began to doubt the fact that the forces remembered that she was a demigod and that she wouldn't have to go to the training camp that Hemera had e-mailed him about when she was filling him in on what he should do if they were ever attacked (He tried to e-mail her back a couple of times but she never replied, which he thought was just plain RUDE. Really, you'd think an all-powerful goddess - at least, as powerful as the goddess of day could be - that was as old as time would have the common courtesy to reply to his e-mails or at least say something like "Dude, quit it", but no, you'd be severely wrong).

Anyway, David totally jinxed it. While he was away on a business trip a year later, Ada found herself sprinting away from the enormous, rabid dogs that had started chasing her while she was walking home from school. After ducking into a shop in an effort to shake off the dogs, she called up her father and they proceeded to have a nice and calm phone conversation about how she was the daughter of an ancient Greek goddess and this meant that really freaky and terrifying monsters were going to try and kill her ("DAD WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME THIS BEFORE I GOT CHASED BY STEROID-CONSUMING FERAL DOGS THAT ARE GOING TO EAT ME?!").

Her father then told her that there was a camp located on Long Island Sound where she would be safe. He then told her not to die and she said okay before deciding to hop on a bus. It was going pretty good until the hellhounds caught up again and attacked the bus (Oops) and she had to go the rest of the way on foot. Ada would later find out that the bus incident was dubbed as a "Hostile Moose Attack". Luckily, on the way to Camp Half-Blood, she ran into a satyr and they "borrowed" some bikes (which they still haven't returned) and biked the rest of the way to camp.

Physical Appearance: Ada is 5'6" tall and has skin that is on the paler side. She has an average build and I won't talk about her breasts because that's awkward. With medium-brown hair, blue eyes, and pretty but not extraordinarily special features, she doesn't exactly stand out. She doesn't wear clothes that are particularly stylish, usually just going about in jeans and a t-shirt. Maybe, maybe, she can be coerced into wearing a dress occasionally by her dad but she doesn't wear them often. She also has a scar on her knee from the time that she fell off something when she was a kid and cut the knee. Ada also has the childish habit of sticking her tongue out at people when they correct her or usually just whenever she feels like it.

Personality: Ada is quite a prideful person. She finds it difficult to keep her opinions to herself and is extremely satisfied with sarcasm and dry humour - even though she usually seems to be the only one who chuckles. She is definitely not lacking in self-confidence, often to the point of arrogance. She tends to be particularly irritated by people who tend to doubt in themselves or seem to believe that they can't do anything, because Ada herself believes that there isn't anything she can't do. However, she usually won't be seen exerting more effort than necessary and isn't known for being the hardest worker.

Her pet peeve is being bossed around, and therefore, she isn't the best at cooperating with others, seeing as she prefers to go off on her own and do as she pleases. Although she isn't exactly unfriendly, she doesn't make a real effort to make friends. But when she does make friends, she will be loyal to them unless they prove themselves to not be worth it. Ada is willing to make certain sacrifices, but she is unafraid draw the line after a certain point. She extremely hesitant to put herself forward just to save someone else's neck. Self-preservation is always her first priority.
Fatal Flaw: Ada's pride and lack of ability to acknowledge bleak circumstances. She's reckless in battle and unwilling to admit that someone may be stronger or better than her or that there are things that she just can't handle.

    Pets: Nope.

Talents: Ada doesn't appear to have any talents related to her god parent, which isn't all to surprising to her. She does have fast reflexes and is very quick and light on her feet. Although she would most likely do better with knives, she opts for a sword instead, which she doesn't seem to be too shabby with.
Weapons: Just a regular celestial bronze camp sword at the moment.
Other: Face claim is Rachel Hurd-Wood.

Can you imagine when this race is won
Turn our golden faces into the sun
Praising our leaders, we're getting in tune
The music's played by the, the mad men

A warning sign
I missed the good part, then I realised
I started looking and the bubble burst
I started looking for excuses

    Name: Jonathon Williams
    Gender: Male
    Age/Birthday: 16 / July 21, 1996

    God Parent: Apollo
    Claimed: Yes
    Year-Round or Summer: Year-Round
    Years in Camp: 2

    Mortal Family:
Stella Williams was 23 and just out of university before she met Apollo. She had graduated a year ago and had left her parents' house in the suburbs a few months earlier in order to try and live independently in New York City and find a job to support herself without her parents' help. Stella was failing. Nobody was willing to give her a job and she had to work as a waitress. But living in Manhattan was expensive and her savings were running out. She was falling into depression and dreaded having to go back to her controlling, strict, and old-fashioned parents.

On one stormy day, she drove to Montauk and tried to walk out to sea. When she found that the water level was up to her shoulders, she found herself getting dragged back to the beach. Even though she fought and cried and begged the man to let her go, he didn't relent and sat her down on the sand and wrapped her firmly in a towel. She sobbed and hysterically told her story to the stranger who listened to everything that she said and offered a smile and a hand when she was done. They fell in love and a month later when he disappeared suddenly, she found out that she was pregnant.

Although she was distraught at his disappearance, she also considered meeting him a stroke a luck, even though it did leave her with a child. Someone made a job offer to Stella a week after she started dating him. It was perfect, with good pay, flexible hours, and it was just the thing she was looking for. It did require some hard work, but Stella Williams was no stranger to hard work and didn't mind it. She had enough money to have a good start with her kid and was no longer worried.

Her parents were less than overjoyed when they found out that Stella was pregnant. They told her to give the child up for adoption and when she refused, they disowned her - telling her not to come to them for help and try to contact them unless she got rid of the child.
And everything was good for a while. Her relationship with Jonathon was great, her job was great, their house was a little small but cozy. She still missed Apollo and even her parents but it was easy enough to deal with those feelings.

But then, when Jonathon was 11, a larger, corporate business bought the company that she worked for and she was unemployed again. She found herself having to work as a waitress again and a few months later, her bank account was once running dangerously low. Appearing to have no more luck on her side, Stella sold the house, packed their things, and Jonathon and she went to a place she never thought she would see again. Her parents' house.

Stella is a pretty woman, she's average height and has a slight tan. Her hair is dark brown with the occasional gray hair and she has brown eyes. She has a nice smile but nowadays, you won't see her smiling very much.

Jonathon also has a two living grandparents and a step-father but he has nothing positive to say about any of them.
(Read about his grandparents and step-father below)

Brief History: Jonathon had a bit of an easy childhood, compared to most. His mother wasn't constantly going off to work and leaving him to fend for himself, so their relationship wasn't shot to dust from the very start. On the odd day every so often, he would come home to an empty house but he didn't mind since his mother took great care to constantly keep their fridge all stocked. He's always had this incredibly fast metabolism which resulted in him being able to consume massive amounts of food.

While definitely not excelling in the academic area, Jonathon was very involved in sports, his main sport of interest being track and field. He also found that he was a mean archer at summer camp, as well as being pretty handy with plastic braiding (but he doesn't tell anyone that, being a skilled braider is not a manly talent). Of course, there was the occasional monster attack but Jonathon dismissed these events at bad luck, although his mother knew otherwise.

And then came the hard year, the year where they were forced to go to live with his grandparents. Jonathon didn't know his grandparents. He had heard his mother talk about them once or twice but he had never met them. He was excited, but his mother had a grim look on her face the entire drive there. Jonathon later found out why. His grandparents were hardly the kind and welcoming kind that he saw often enough on TV. They were stern and extremely conservative. They both smiled when they saw his mother but when they set their eyes on him, all warmth disappeared and he shrunk back behind his mother instinctively.

The months after they first arrived at his grandparents' house were hard. His mother was given her old room but Jonathon had to use the attic. Every night for the first two weeks, he could hear them scolding her as if she were a child and every day he saw them ordering her around. Stella fell into a depression harder than the first one and Jonathon suffered along with her. When his mother quieted and took to staying in her bed most of the time, Jonathon's grandparents turned their attention to him.

He had to do most, if not all, the chores in the house and he had to do them silently, without a complaint. While he worked sometimes, he could hear his grandmother and grandfather talking about how his mother's life had been great before his lousy, irresponsible father had shown up and then left. He heard his grandmother sometimes mutter "Wicked child" under her breath and his grandfather grumble about how Stella should have listened to him and gotten an abortion.

The first monster attack at his grandparents' house was the worst. It was a group of dracaenae that decided to go straight after him. The police were called and the dracaenae disappeared but his grandmother screamed at him and asked him what he was, even striking him on the face at one point.

Jonathon threw himself into school after that, he wanted to be away from the house for as much as possible. He made as many friends as he could and would hang out with them whenever he could and attended as many after school activities as he could, even though it meant punishment from his grandparents. His home life didn't go without an impact on his social life, though. There were days were Jonathon would come to school angry and if a kid decided to be rude to him on one of those days, he would fight them. He was sent to the office, often suspended for a few days. He went home with a bloody nose and once, a broken arm - home to a house of angry grandparents who made him do his regular chores anyway and scolded and screamed at him for hours. The thought that carried his through most days was that he only had to endure a few more years and then he would be 18 and he could run away.

His grandparents then decided to set up Stella and someone she had dated in high school. The man was selfish, apathetic, and all-around horrible. But he was good looking and he had plenty of money, which was enough for his grand parents to think that he would be a good match for Stella. They were married when Jonathon was 13. Jonathon could deal with his grandparents but three was too much for him. Six months after the marriage, he searched through his mother's things in order to find out at least something about his father. He hit the jackpot a few days after he first started searching. A box full of things that reminded his mother of his father, gifts that he had given her, and an address

    Camp Half-Blood, Half-Blood Hill, Farm Road 3.141
    Long Island, New York 11954

The next day, Jonathon left his house and didn't look back. His journey to camp was hard and it took almost a month because a group of monsters started to follow him after his second day. He found a group of three other demigods and two satyrs on his third week and after that, things started to get a lot easier.

Physical Appearance: Jonathon is 5'11" tall and has a more lanky and wiry build. He has dark brown hair and nice blue eyes (although you can't see how PURDY they are in the picture above). He still has that boyish look about him, as he is not quite at the age where he can be considered an adult. He tends to wears plain jeans, sneakers, and a shirt rather than sashaying about shirtless and flexing his (kind of scrawny-ish) muscles for all the ladies of camp to ooh and aah (laugh) at. He has one scar on his back from a run-in with a monster and another on his hand from a rather embarrassing experience that he tries to avoid talking about at all costs.

Personality: Jonathon is a playful guy, often teasing and poking fun at friends. He's quite friendly and not afraid to act like himself even around strangers. He often makes up names that he considers EPIC (but are most likely just really weird) for anything that he thinks could do with a name. Jonathon is a nice enough guy, although he can be a bit devious at times, prone to playing pranks and jokes on people. He does not have an artistic bone in his body, and he most likely won't even attempt to do things that require artistic talent. His past has taken its toll on him so that Jonathon now unconsciously believes that he has to prove himself to everyone and anyone, usually doing dangerous and incredibly stupid things. He hates bullies and is likely to get into fights. When it comes to dares, he'll do them all.

He's proud and headstrong, Jonathon usually takes on others without thinking of the ramifications of doing so. He finds it hard to control his emotions, often acting on anger or despair. Anybody who values their own neck would not follow any of the plans that he concocts because they're crazy, dangerous, and seriously unlikely to work - although he never seems to realize it. Jonathon is fearless, but that isn't necessarily a good thing. He doesn't know what's good for himself and does not hesitate to face impossible danger. Thoughts of what he's going to do or what's going to happen afterward do not enter his thoughts and he gets to be a bit of an adrenaline junkie in the heat of the moment.
Fatal Flaw: He doesn't know his own limits and feels a need to prove himself.

Pets: His mother got him a dog on his 10th birthday, but it was more for her than him anyway. The dog stayed back home with his mother and grandparents.

Talents: Jonathon is pretty slick with a bow and arrow like most other children of Apollo and he is also a fast runner. He knows the basics of using a sword, but he shouldn't use a sword unless he has no other choice.
Weapons: A bow of EXTREME MONSTER DEADMAKINGHOOD (Yeah, just a regular bow).
Other: Face claim is Michael Christopher Bolten.

This one's for you and me, living out our dreams
We're all right where we should be
With my arms out wide I open my eyes

    Name: Rie Roberts
    Gender: Female
    Age/Birthday: 17 / February 3, 1995

    God Parent: Khione
    Claimed: Yes
    Year-Round or Summer: Year-Round
    Years in Camp: 5

    Mortal Family:
James Edo was a 34 year-old second generation Japanese-American man who worked as an architect because it was his passion, rather than for success and money. He got married when he was 28 to Reanne Takahashi, another second generation Japanese-American and the girl he loved more than anything in the world. They lived in a medium sized bungalow that their parents had helped them buy and they lived modestly and honestly, working hard and aiming for happiness rather than wealth or fame.

Reanne was seriously injured in a car accident involving a drunk driver and after a heart breaking two weeks in the hospital, she passed away in her sleep. James was bereft at his wife's death, entering an artistic slump and unable to complete many of his commissions for his job. His parents and parents-in-law helped him through that difficult period in his life. When he met Khione, he thought he might have found the woman who would help him finally move on from Reanne, even though he still loved and missed her. James loved Khione too, but not quite in the same way, and he knew that the relationship was a mistake when he made it, even though his parents and parents-in-law were understanding.

He never regretted that Rie was born. A year after he gave her up for adoption, he regretted that he wouldn't be there to see her grow up but he knew that he had given her up for the best. Even though the little girl had looked so much like Reanne with her wide eyes and delighted giggles.

Shawn and Giselle Roberts were a happy couple. They had met in college, fell in love, and ended up staying together. When they were 26, Giselle learned that she was sterile and although it broke her heart, she told Shawn that he could leave her and find another woman that he could marry and have a family with. Shawn didn't love Giselle any less because of her sterility, and chose to stay with her. They were married a year later. Even so, they both wanted a child. And so they went to look through orphanages and adoption centres to find the little girl that they would cherish.

And after a week of looking, the six year-old Rie caught their eyes and they carried her away from the sad little orphanage that they had found her in. They were overjoyed to finally have a third member in their family. The six years they spent with Rie were easy and happy, Rie was a sweet-tempered and easily pleased child. Shawn, Giselle, and Rie got along fantastically, and Rie's memories of her childhood are nothing but happy when it came to her parents. Of course, all families aren't perfect, and Giselle and Shawn would fight but they made up quickly enough and no fight was ever too serious.

Both of them made an attractive pair. They were tanned, tall, and healthy. Giselle had dark blond hair and green eyes while Shawn had dark brown hair and dark eyes. Shawn and Rie always had a bit of a special relationship because they looked alike, and because Shawn was half Vietnamese himself.

Brief History: When James Edo found a baby in a basket on his doorstep, his first reaction was panic. Deciding to take it slow with his decision, he kept the baby for three weeks, all while trying to figure out how much money it would take to bring her up right and discussing it with his parents and parents-in-law.

Finally, at the end of February, he brought the girl to the orphanage with a heavy heart. But not before he gave her a name - Rie Takahashi, after his mother-in-law. Rie had reminded him much more of Reanne than of Khione and so he decided it was only natural to name the baby after one of his late wife's family members. Along with the name, James also gave Rie the antique locket that he had given to his wife when they had fallen in love.

Rie's time at the orphanage wasn't sad, if not a little lonely. The people who worked at the orphanage were nice and Rie wasn't a wild child so she got along pretty nicely. Even so, she was happy to finally leave the orphanage and have real parents. Rie was happy with Shawn and Giselle. She got to bake cookies with Giselle and tag along on Shawn's fishing trips. She spent a lot of time in the small coffee shop that they owned - drinking gallons upon gallons of hot chocolate and bubble tea and running around and talking to the regulars at the shop. The three of them often spent nights in a tent in the backyard - although they usually fell asleep on the quilt outside the tent while Giselle talked about constellations and the universe.

Shawn built her a small treehouse that became her base of operations. Rie was an imaginative and bubbly kid who was hard not to like. Their house was an extremely happy one and it seemed to be easy enough to be happy.

But when Rie was 12, and just starting to become a young lady, three Cyclopes broke into their home while they were inside and tried to grab Rie several times, one time where they succeeded but she managed to wriggle out of their grip. Giselle managed to call the police while Shawn tried to protect Rie, but Giselle was seriously injured in the attack and died. Shawn, on the other hand, sustained a head injury and entered a coma. Rie, not knowing what would happen to her without her parents, ran away.

A satyr found Rie a week later, shivering in an alley, and helped her get to camp.

Physical Appearance: Rie is 5'4" and a bit on the slimmer side, due to her lack of athleticism and therefore, lack of muscle. Her hair is dark brown and long, and she has the dark brown, almond-shaped eyes characteristic to most Asians. Rie smiles often, but she doesn't smile big or particularly happily. She tends to wear more feminine clothing - dresses, skirts, and cardigans. She prefers heavier clothing, though, and consequently, winter fashions are more of her thing. Rie has several scars on her left leg from the Cyclopes' attack.

Personality: Rie is not a hothead. She is a quiet person and appears to lack any real kind of temper. She goes a long way to avoid conflict and sometimes will go a long way to just avoid any interaction in general with others. She doesn't like crowds and is a little on the shy side, preferring to just keep the company of one or two close friends. Being self-reliant and responsible, if you give her a task, she'll complete it punctually and diligently. She finds comfort in routine and methodical work. She is very sympathetic and a good listener and therefore a good shoulder to cry on or a good person to go to when someone needs a pat on the back. Rie is rather thoughtful and often disregards her own needs for others'.

Rie doesn't open up to anyone. She stays to herself and doesn't let others know what she's thinking. She doesn't like to depend on others, and often pushes others away when they start to get too close. When it comes to fighting, Rie has a tendency to shirk away. She could be called something of a coward, and if anyone were to accuse her of this or insult her because of this, she wouldn't argue. Rie doesn't fight for herself, believing it not to be worth it. When anybody is rude to her, she's usually unresponsive. When bossed around, she will do what she's asked without complaining. She's a bit of a pushover.
Fatal Flaw: Rie isn't confident in herself and is also likely to hesitate due to fear

    Pets: None.

Talents: Rie specializes in icing over things, either by freezing the water within them or the water around them. However, she can only freeze smaller things, and with every thing she freezes, her body temperature noticeably cools. If she freezes too many things or something that's too big, she runs the risk of getting frozen herself. She is incapable of freezing other people, although she does think she would be able to freeze a monster although it would require being willing to freeze herself in the process.

Most of the things that she freezes only stay frozen for up to a minute before beginning to melt - that is, unless she maintains the ice, but the longer than she maintains ice, the more likely she is to freeze herself. Something she has noticed is that whenever she freezes a living thing, it tends to shatter into a fine dust rather than melting. Therefore, if she ever froze herself, she would not melt, she would shatter - which is why she has to be extremely careful with her power.
Weapons: Rie doesn't really have any talent with any weapons, although she does hesitantly carry a knife.
Other: When Rie gets emotional, she begins to lose control of her powers, often freezing things around her without meaning to and running the real risk of icing over herself.
    Face claim is Keiko Kitagawa.
