Looking back at me
I seemed to have never really got it right.
I never stopped to think of you.
I'm always wrapped up in things
I cannot win.

I strolled along the path near the Beach, trying to find something of mine a fellow Khione camper threw out. Also, I mean, there's bikini girls here guys. Scratch that. Bikini demigods. Like daughters of Aphrodite and stuff, man. Mmkay? Mmkay.

So I was just walking by, trying to spot someone while faintly searching the ground for a lost item, a letter from an old flame of mine. Then, conveniently, I found the letter somewhat buried in the dirt, and fished it out. As I rolled it up and stuck it in my pocket, I resigned myself to just flat out look over at the beach. It wasn't even the idea of seeing side-boobs. Nope. I was just curious now, cause usually you would hear people screaming or just people flat-out having fun. But nothing!

"Huh?" I grunted as I looked out on the white expanse of sand.

No one! No one at all! Just a completely empty beach! Why? Maybe there's some assembly that they have to go to or maybe it's a really busy day. Huh. But the notion of no one here got me thinking...

I haven't swam in a long time! Not since... well Rachel. And man, did the water look nice today...

I look from side to side, and quickly run down to the beach, taking off one shoe at a time, my shirt, and then the note until I finally dove into the dark blue waters. Man... a day can't get better than this.

You are the antidote that gets me by.
Something strong like a drug, that gets me high.
What I really meant to say...
Is I'm sorry for the way...
I am.
I never meant to be so cold.

Skye had been at the bottom of the sound, holding her breath. She had been doing it for an hour and twenty eight minutes, and in that time, quite a few fish had stared at her. Sand had accumulated around the air bubble she was sitting in, cross legged. It seemed the only way she could get some peace and quiet these days was to do this. She meditated, but kept concentration on the bubble. Keeping the water away. So, in a way, her meditation was focusing on the constant flow of water around her.

Before she knew it, she sensed someone in the water. Her eyes shot open and she turned around towards the shore. Skye almost lost concentration as she saw it was Jared. The beach was barren, though. Strange for that time of day. Maybe there was something she was supposed to be doing? Ah, never mind that.

Skye swam to the top of the sound, and made her way towards Jared on the shore. She realized they hadn't really gone to the beach together, except for when they first met and that day with Rachel... Yeah, she didn't really want to think about that.

"Hey Jared!" she called out. Skye was dry, of course, which was a phenomenon she had barely understood. She just knew it worked.

Jared was someone who came into Skye's life about a year ago. He made what was once a very crappy life into one that got better and worse and the same time. His presence in her life made things more... differentiating. Before, it was just crappy. Now, we had good and bad! It was a roller coaster of experiences, and now, she figured things were pretty good.

But, in order for things to become good, Skye had to get injured at the Manticore attacks a couple months ago. They met by chance at the infirmary. She thought maybe she should start looking into those near death experiences and see how that worked.

"Waaah!" I yelled and fell back into the water, hearing the sound of my... er... fiancee-to-be-who-cheated-on-me-but-it's-all-cool-now-because-she-got-her-hand-cut-off-by-a-manticore-... it's complicated. Let's just say she's my girlfriend for now. Mmkay? Kay.

Oh God, had she followed me here? Had she known that I was going to look for girls in bikinis? And fantasize about them later while I was in the shower and she was calling out to me saying 'Hey what's taking you so long in the shower, every time?' and I yell back 'I don't know, why does it take you so long to finish brushing your teeth in the morning?' then we'll get in a fight and I'll land up sleeping outside my apartment on the patio with Logan feeding me pieces of apples through the small hole in the window. Oh shoop. How do I reply?

"Sup babe?" That's right. Play it cool.

Almost immediately, I jumped onto her, grabbing her shoulders.

"I'M SORRY I WAS JUST CURIOUS PLEASE DON'T HIT ME I HAVE ICE I COULD HURT YOU OH PLEASE GOD NO I WAS JUST WONDERING WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE I'M SORRY!"
