Major changes would be changing any section completely or maybe even just half of the section. Or rather, anything that isn't a minor tweak of one or a few personality/physical traits.

Changes to history would be major, becauase we have to make sure it's allowed.

Personality depends. Did you add all good traits/bad traits? If the answer's yes, then that would be major. We don't want to have a Mary-Sue or Anti-Sue on our hands.
