Planning the Parties

I feel two more footsteps enter the room, probably that Daria chick's friends. One of them is blind... I listen closely to the footsteps and hear a voice speaking to me sadly.
"Oh..." I kind of feel uncomfortable, I mean, I don't have to much experience dealing with girls, not to mention sad ones. I heard if you say the wrong things, they could become more of a handful than any monster though. "Well, it's not really that bad," I try my best to keep a cheerful attitude, "I mean, I've been blind for like what? Fifteen years?" I laugh a bit, although a bit uncomfortably. "Heard that your affliction was pretty recent. You need any help trying to figure anything out? Do you remember your way around camp? Do you know how to read faces?"

"Well, I know some things. I know my way around camp backwards and with my eyes closed. Oh and I can tell how excited or anxious someone is by feeling their pulse." I say. I know not to lash out at people I barely know. It annoys me a bit about how everyone is always whispering. I take my mp3 player out of my pocket and put the ear buds in my ears. I lean back in my chair and start listening to music. Absolute peace. Cool

"i say we should have when we get back from the quest cuz i really want to go to jr prom. but im leaving tomorrow for the quest"

I take off my headphones and sit up. "Of course I can hear you silly! Being blind makes my other senses work better." I say matter-of-factly. "Oh yeah! I heard Lilius was going on that quest!"

"yeah. she is. i cant wait for tomorrow. we leave at daybreak so we can get an early start." i smile at her. "but im gonna be so worn out afterwords. oh gosh!but honestly, im kinda scared to lead the quest. what if we end up failing the quest, or what if someone dies, or-"
"julia! chill! every thing is gonna be ok." i say reassuringly" if anything goes wrong, you know hwta, why am i saying that? nothing will go wrong as long as you have a positive attitude"

I look up from writing in my party notebook. "Ok, we'll have the Apollo cabin do music. The Demeter cabin will help with snacks, the Aphrodites will help with flowers and dresses and stuff. The Hephaestus kids will help with fireworks and decorations. And finally, the Poseidon kids will help with the 'grand finale'" I say.

"All the other cabins will help too," I look down at my notebook. "the Artemis, Iris, and Hestia kids will help with the 'grand finale'. The Tyche kids, well me, will try our luck at getting donations of like hotdogs and stuff. And finally, everyone else will be guests at the party. Well everyone will be coming but uh yea. Oh and I called Zafira and she said she's on her way with the dresses."

I walk in, carrying the dresses carefully in their plastic cases. I pick up the aqua one and set it down in front of Julia. "Now when I'm done passing them out, you can tell me how you like them." I say smiling. I continue on and place a silvery purplish blue dress in front of Desmia, a dark green sleeveless one in front of Daria, and keep the beautiful cotton candy pink chiffon dress for myself. When I get to Terry, I think for a second. "I'll have to get you a tux or a suit maybe. I'll have it ready before the dance, I promise." I say smiling brightly. "Does everyone like their dresses? Oh and you can come over to the Aphrodite cabin and pick out shoes and I can do your hair."

"oh! thank you so much! this color is a great color for me! thank you!" i exclaim. i hold the dress to my body and spin around. half way through my spin, i fall on my butt. then crack up laughing
while admiring my dress. i hear sudden laughter. when i look up, i see julia sitting on the floor laughing her head off. i join her laughter as i help her up
